I found this a while ago ... WoW and Warcraft fans should get a kick out of knowing it.

"WarCraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans was a dark comical point-and-click adventure computer game under development by Blizzard Entertainment that was set in the Warcraft Universe, and cancelled before its release. Russian company Animation Magic located in St. Petersburg was out-sourced due to their experience in classical two-dimensional animation to produce the twenty-two minutes of fully-animated sequences, the game's artwork, the coding of the engine and the implementation of the sound effects. Blizzard then provided all the designs, the world backgrounds, sound recording and ensured storyline continuity. Four or five months after Blizzard had released Battle.net and Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal had shipped, Blizzard began development on a title that would be cancelled just over a year later.

Tagline: "An Adventure Game in the World of WarCraft."

They scrapped it because LucasArts were releseasing MI 3 and had announced Grim Fandango, suddenly their graphcs were outdated.

Yeah, I remember this. They only ever released like 2-3 screenshots. I was pretty excited about it back then.

Andail

Yeah I recognise those pics. Pretty :)

Fabiano

Ya, I remember that. But as a adventure and rts player, I thought:
- leave the rts to blizz and adventure to lucas.
now blizz does mmorpg and lucas too...

crap;
;D
Yeah, yeah, It happens. A lot.

Jaws

haha  ;D

I had no idea Blizzard had worked on this ... Would have been cool though ... Blizzard might have taken a diffrent route had the game become successfull. And then LucasArts would have had to compete with Blizz Adventure games, and thy might stilll be active in the field ... ah the trouser leg of time .. you never know which leg we go down.

That sounds JUST like Blizzard to do that! Console owners have been waiting an eternity for Starcraft: Ghost. Something about it never being released until the developers think it's perfect. I think it'll never see the day then!

Gregjazz

I remember seeing a trailer for that on an old Blizzard CD. Looked pretty cool. They were a little out of their genre when it came to making point and click games, IMO. Still would've been cool, of course. There's some interesting stories behind that game, just google it.

Woah, I can't believe I'm the only one who thought of using YouTube:

Oh, about the trailer...
It's on the StarCraft CD. Yep.

Thats the only thing I like Blizz. They try the hardest to make their games and dont care about deadlines. I remember that I waiter forever for diablo 2 and didnt regret when I put my hands on it. Same thing wow.
But Im sad about the SC:ghost. I was drooling to play. Maybe in 2008...

That would be a fun game to continue. Theve already got so much art.
