Well, what can I say, we're in production and doing great.

Demo and teaser download (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=829)
We have a screenshots section, a FAQ, and of course the download link in the menu above. We do not currently have a public forum for feedback, however. We may create one in the future. We do not have an official release date yet. As with many independently created games, it will be done when it is done.
The ancient kingdom of Theylinn is beset by enemies both from within and without. Within the castle walls, nobles vie for the old King's favor, and not everybody is happy with the sole heir to the throne, princess Rhiannon.
Meanwhile, danger approaches, in the form of an invading army, a hostile giant, and a mercenary troop who are ancient enemies of the Theylann king.
And there is mystery yet. For hidden within the borders of Theylinn lies a second kingdom, named Thierna na Oge, where the faeries reign. Little is known about this shrouded, exotic realm.
A Tale of Two Kingdoms is a full-length graphical adventure with a mood of fairy tales, magic, and intrigue, and strives to be one of the best AGS games yet.

We are still interested in testers. If you would like to help, please drop me a private message, and include a few lines on how you think alpha testing works and why you would make a good tester. Not to discourage anyone but if you want to see the game because it's k3wl, please wait until it's completed.
Great Work!, Reminds me of 'Lure Of The Tempress'
Any updates you can give us, Radiant? The project looks to be very cool. :)
Well, here's an update...
A Tale Of Two Kingdoms is rapidly nearing completion. We are finishing up in many areas, and touching up in some others. What I mean is that we're basically working on the last five or six rooms, portraits and such. We're aiming fora release around this year's christmas, but still keeping our fingers crossed on that one. And here are some new screenshots.
We presently have a (mostly) playable version, so we would like to have some people
beta-test it. If you're interested in some serious testing, please drop us a line.
There will likely be auditions for voice actors in a month or so, we'll keep you posted here. And if people have questions, by all means, shoot ahead!
And as with almost all projects, if there happen to be any
sprite artists who can spare a day or two, they'd be most welcome, as this makes the game more vivid and fun.

Hiya,
This looks great, I'd be interested in beta testing :)
Thanks,
Scott
I am also looking forward to it
but why did you never update the website? ???

Simply put, keeping the website constantly updated takes time. We rather prefer to spend our energy working on the game. But who knows, we probably will update one day in the future.

alright :)
We'll look into getting the web-page updated.
As Radiant said, sprite art is the area of the game that's in need of primary focus, but everywhere else development has gone very well!
Be sure to check out the webpage to familiarise yourself with the basic plot, if you haven't already. We're basically trying to make a game similar to the Conquests series of adventure games from Sierra Online, with more of a fantasy world.
Truly awesome guys, can't wait to play it. I'd help with some voice acting if you want. :) And if it weren't for IA I'd help with sprites aswell but can't have everything.
It looks amazing O_O...this is one of those games I just can't wait to play, the screenshots are amazing, and I love the adventure games including fairy tales, magic, and castles..and all that stuff...
Please finish it soon! ;D
I'd really like to help, but I've discovered with my own little game that, whereas I can be good with statics sprites, I am quite terrible at animating and I wouldn't sollute your bottle neck... :/ Sorry about that... :'(
NIIIIIIICCCCCCEEEEEEEEE! i really love it! I'm a fan.
I followed one of your links to heroine's quest, these are the two games at least I'll be waiting for!
such beautiful graphics ...

Ya me too I've being waiting for those games.
Hopefully they can be done in fair time.
*bump*
Well, now that the game is nearing completion I'll try to keep people posted about us a bit more than I have in the past. This is a piece of music from our game, by mr. Sideris. Enjoy!

Please don't slashdot us :)
NEARING COMPLETION?!!?!? :o ....;D
WOW, I was really waiting for this one since I red the story...and those screenshots are amazing...
I really really like the fantasy, wizards, orcs, knights...I guess I'm a 20 years old child..
Can't wait to play the full version, and...the music is also great, please finish it soon (but in two weeks or I won't study =P)
This is great just wondering because i have dial up how big of a file will this game be to download ?
And i also hope this means you will finally get back to finish the remake of the other game you were working on.
And everybody have a great Thanksgiving Holiday!
John
Well if I'm not mistaken the file will be around 60 Mb (give or take some). I'm not incharge of this, but we might try using rar instead of zip or even splitting the files. We don't know yet.
Radiant: Correct me if I'm wrong here, I don't want to give the wrong impression...
I'm afraid that MP3s don't compress much, regardless of what program you use. Basic matter of entropy, really. At an estimate, the game would be about 25 meg (zipped to 16-18), plus 60-70 meg of music pack, plus 20-30 meg of voice pack.
The size doesn't matter to me. It's so gonna be worth it! Good to hear that you've made so much progress, I'm enthusiastically waiting for the release!
Pablo: Well thank you! this is encouraging. Me as a composer, I find it terrifying to work on a game and have the game at 20 Mb and the music at 70Mb! But seeing your respones just wants me to do even more for this game.
Looks great fellas, have you tried using ogg format instead of mp3? I have heard it compresses better.
It does compress, slightly better, but at least for me (I'm doing part of the music), my music has too many EQ areas covered and need 192 Kbps in mp3 format (which is a kinda waste of space, but can't have it any other way). Exporting ogg through Cubase gives me only three options and the big one is huge (twice the size of mp3), while the other is not...good enough.
Another problem would be that we have had 5-6 composers working on this amazingly huge game (True...) and we have more than 60 different tracks in various formats and qualities. Switching formats back and forth, apart from being time consuming, it is also risky for the waveform.
But anyway let me say that the game will be excellent that (hopefully) you won't mind downloading it. Anyway I believe that the voice pack will be optional.
I'll point out that ATOTK is also looking for Beta-testers.
If interested, send me a PM about it that briefly explains why you'd make a good tester.
Newsflash!
We have a trailer (http://www.atotk.homecall.co.uk/ATOTKtrailer.WMV) available! This is a 14-meg WMV movie of our intro sequence, with lovely graphics and stunning music. I encourage everybody to take a look at it!
Also, we now have public forums (http://taleoftwokingdoms.com/forum) and are holding auditions (http://www.taleoftwokingdoms.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4) for voice actors.
Also, people interested in beta testing are still welcome to drop me a private message.
Great to know there's some progress in this promising game!
Something to point though. I've watched the trailer and as a casual player, who's english language isn't native, I've understand almost nothing from the intro story. Maybe it's me, but personally, I'll have to watch it again to get it. Adding voices here, pictures of the main characters, gaps or slow a bit down the subs will be great! Though I don't know how important is this intro, but I think the first impressions are important.
The music was excellent! Feels kinda LOTR-ish. And the backgrounds are pretty neat too. Good job and keep it going!
Nice trailer!
I looking forward till this game is finnished!!
This trailer looks fantastic! *rases her hands* º.;D.º
I definitely look forward to the release of this game! :D
Looks like you should have captured the video from AGS on a faster PC: you can see the slowdown when the rain starts... ;)
Hem, SSH, the video was captured on 2.8 GHz computer. It's not the speed that it was captured, but rather the quality of the video, which was very reduced for size issues. I don't remember exactly but I think that it has 10 fps. :)
Voice actors are needed, both female and male actors, with good vocal skills.
Also nice english accents would be nice. Stop by the site and try out for the many roles.
In case people were wondering why our forum disappeared... that's simply because we exceeded our bandwidth limit (due to increased traffic and several in-team demos released in the past weeks). We'll be back come April, no worries.
I don't know what exactly is wrong (or right, for that matter), but thought I'd mention that the ATOTK forums are back on-line...
I've spoken to the Powers That Be and everything's back to normal now. Yay!
its gone down again
sorry to lay that one on ya
Huh? It works fine for me. Maybe it's your connection?
as soon as I get my hands on a microphone, I am going to get auditioning :D
Yes, you do that!
Nope, it is down :( which is pu, because I wanted to log into the forums and say hello to everyone!!! :)
To any of you guys who see this, big ups and much luvs from Roc ;D
Yes, now it is done...
It will be up again on the 1st...
Apologies (with spelling errors!) for that!
But you did say hi here! :D
Our site is back up. And we're still interested in voice actors, so if you can speak, vocalize, mutter or mumble, please drop by at our forums (http://www.taleoftwokingdoms.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4).

Bump. Updated with a short AGS demo or teaser,
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=829
Coming Soon...
I just watched the teaser, it's nice to hear something new about ATOTK.
"Soon" means we can expect it in 2007, right? :D
good attempt at creating the depth by having your layers moving differently like how i did it in that video i fooled around with for you back on the AGDI forum
QuoteA Tale of Two Kingdoms is a full-length graphical adventure with a mood of fairy tales, magic, and intrigue, and strives to be one of the best AGS games yet.
...and then you give us a demo which is graphically very nice but is little more than a title screen. I prefer those screenies, actually. They're a much better indicator of what the game will be. Which is the purpose of a demo, no? A sample? "Teaser" is right, I suppose - it involves showing precious little content, and you couldn't possible have shown less content than with your "demo/teaser".
This looks great. We've been waiting for this one for a while. :)
