Grundislav Games (http://www.grundislavgames.com) presents:
Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator
in
Case 7 - The Cardinal Sins
The StoryIt's Christmas Eve in Rome. What should be a joyful occasion becomes a senseless tragedy as a priest is murdered in cold blood. Back home in Philadelphia, Ben Jordan receives a phone call from the man accused of the crime, begging him to go to Rome and clear his name. Seeing this as a chance to prove his career choice to his disapproving family, Ben calls up his friends and starts another investigation. However, Ben doesn't realize that this will be the toughest case he's ever had, as many questions will be answered, and some lives will be lost...

The game will be fully voiced and also feature an optional designer commentary, just in case you feel like listening to me ramble about the BJ design process.
Update 7/16/08With less than a month to go before the release date, I figured I'd put together another cheesy trailer for the game, viewable here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxwE1Az16Uw).
Slight spoilers, so don't watch it if you don't want to know anything about the game before playing.
Looks awesome, Grundislav. It's great to hear that the game will have voice acting - I must admit I've been missing that since BJ1 Deluxe. The audio commentary is also an excellent concept that I've been enjoying so much in Dave Gilbert's games. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing you ramble about the design process. And I think I spotted a clue in the crime scene... :)
Looks great, can't wait!
Wooooooooooow !!! Is it possible that BJ visits Venice in the game ? It would be wonderful. It is already wonderful without Venice :)
What can I say? It looks great and I know it will play great too. So All I can say is best of luck! And surprise us with another great Ben Jordan game.
Woo hoo. Gunna be great. Good cast as well ;)
Ever improving on the graphics side of things too Grundy.
Case 7 is looking great :) and fully voiced too! :D Cant wait for it to be released!
Fully voiced!?
I can't believe it's free!
;D
Mine is fully voiced and free.. but I don;t see you screaming like a cheerleader.

Dude, you can't challenge games like Ben Jordan,Apprentice... even if you make a fully 3d, fully voiced, fully animated, fully free, fully 2008 technology game. They are legends of AGS. Accept this truth and you'll be so relieved believe me :)
Awesome!! Looks great Grundislav, good luck with it all!!
I look forward to playing! I love the series, too! ;D
Yours may be fully voiced and free, but you dont have me doing silly accents in your game... do you? DO YOU?!?!?!

The amazement made me scream so loud that it became impossible for the human ears to hear. ;)
Another Ben Jordan game? *squeels with delight* ;D
In other words. I am looking forward to this game. :D
In a way, ok yes.. Geez we should be talking about BJ 7 here. Guess darth is on vacations.. Anyway I have BJ featured in my game. So I like the series but really Grundi must find an ending sooner or later..
But the ending has already been planned for case 8... hasnt it? :-\
It has, yes.
Looks great Grundi. Can't wait.
I have to admit, though, I'm not too fussed about AGS games being voiced... it's cool when they are but wouldn't it be better to have it non-voiced to begin with (that way we get an earlier release ;) ), and then go through the rest of the serie making fully-voiced deluxe versions to accompany BJ1 Deluxe.
But, whatever, I'm not complaining, good luck, can't wait \o/
Way.. got to hurry now to solve BJ5 and 6... Sweet-looking, crime-packed adventure glory!
You know, it's funny. I remember when Ben Jordan first came out. It was a short game, the graphics were sort of okay. Now, it's become one of the cornerstone series of the AGS community. Every game is more impressive than the last one, and I've just been floored time after time.
Grundislav, I wish you the best on this. No doubt it'll be awesome. :D
This'll be good, because I'm in it.... oh and I hear Grundy makes a decent game, but that's probably just a rumor.
damn, every new incarnation of Ben Jordan get's better and better.. Keep up the great work..
Grundislav, you are at the top of my list when it comes to "the best game creators" (without forgetting the people who helped you with your projects). I am speaking for everyone when I say that we are grateful to have awesome people like you (and MANY others ;) ) within the AGS community.
I am wishing you luck on Ben Jordan 7. I can't wait to play it. ;D
Too bad the series is almost over :'(.
Oh well, sometimes we just have to move on :P.

Nah, these are just the eight cases that make up
'The Chronicles of Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator - Volume 1'I hear there are to be 24 Volumes... right Grundy? :D
Very excited for this! I'm sure it'll be one of the best AGS games of the year.
Thanks in advance!!
Yet again looks like another fantastic game, I can't wait!
Oooo this sounds like it's gonna be awesome!!! I can't wait!!! ;D ;D ;D
Catholic churches eh?
So I'm assuming "The Cardinal Sins" is a double reference to the Seven Deadly Sins and a position in the Roman Catholic church?
Hey, Grundi I just saw BJ6 on a small 150 word review on a greek magazine(www.pcmaster.gr).. The author was wondering whether the story(myth) exists or no.
The backgrounds look fan-frigging-tastic, especially that church. And voice acting, too? Can't wait!

My thoughts exactly! Grundislav is an inspiration for us newbies. ;D
Alright, Case 7 Ahoy! ;D
I love everythig about your games except one thing, They're too short.
Now if to remedy this you add more team members or make the new games pay I'll glady wait for you to finish.
I'm going to play the prequels, looks great!
Then I'll wait for this one to come :D
You really should play them T they're really good.
Also will any of the Ben Jordan games be coming to Xbox 360 any time soon. LOL
I just started playing the earlier Ben Jordan games and am really enjoying them. This looks great, too!
;D each game in the series is great... the first two are less "sophisticated" than the later ones, but they have a certain charm to them and nice touches of Americana (like that Charlie Feathers song and coffee shop in Case 2).
I've just begun Case 5, so luckily I'm not _quite_ at the point where I'm wiggin' out about having a new Ben Jordan to play, but I'm still intrigued by these screenshots... artwork really does seem to be getting better and better! :)
The voice acting was fun in BJ1 Deluxe too so that'll be nice... I did feel like speaking _every_ observation (i.e. when you look at something) wasn't entirely necessary -- it could have been restricted to dialogue -- but oh well, I guess that's sort of standard with talkies.
Wow, after this case gets completed, the only case unreleased will be the last one... unless we get more ''Deluxes''.
I just discovered the Ben Jordan series two weeks ago. I have played and beaten 4, 5, and 6. I really enjoy the characters, and the music in 6 was AMAZING. I actually just sat around and let the music play from the hotel in Greece. (or the bungalo)
I just downloaded the first Ben Jordan, and can't wait to play~
:) Grundislav:
Just wanted to say, I've played and won all Game Episodes 1-6 (so far) of Ben Jordan. I take back what I said earlier about Ben Jordan not having enough danger - these games are so well made and exciting - AND (gulp!) :o scary :o too! Lots of danger! This Adventure Game series is like a thrilling Adventure Serial from the 1930's-1940's!
I am anticipating his scary adventure in Rome! I'm getting the buttery popcorn out when I play the game!
Thanks again for entertaining me! :)
Yeah, Bj has evolved from a small game to a great one.....
can't wait for the seventh game!!!!
I can't wait for another BJ!
Me too! And I mean that in the least sexually perverted way ;).
i keep expecting updates... >:(
Patience friend and your updates will come to you.

Wow! Looking amazing!
But i hope it's more than a murder case\chase we had that allready in part 5.
Still i'm looking forward to it.. I loved Ben jordan since the first part... Ben Jordan games stand for high quality!
greetings 23-down
Oh boy! It's done!
Well, the game is fully playable and in beta, anyway.
So, the next couple of months will be dedicated to recording voices and getting music and animations done.
Which means that with Mittens on August 15th, I am going to take a risk and hopefully deliver on my promise:
The game will be released on August 12, 2008.
Great news! I read on the website that you'll be using lipsyncing - let's hope smiley will have updated his audio manager plugin with the automatic lipsync code by the time you've recorded the voices, that should speed things up quite a bit. Really looking forward to it!
I cant wait for the BJ climax. That is Case 8 since I have already finished case 7, where grundislav gave ma a bj while his mother watched!

Yesss~!
I can't wait to play Slavigrund! Hopefully it will start to reveal some of the stuff that's been going on in the background all this time.
I can't wait for the next one. They are really good. I rank you up there right next to Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. You both make excellent games. ;D
Seven allready? Is this going to be the Police Academy of AGS?
Just kidding, cant wait.
Woot! Trailer in the first post.
Haha awesome! Great trailer.
Bonus points for the inclusion of the word "Penultimate" ;).
VERY impressing!!!
I have enjoyed every game in this great series, and this seems to be the best yet.
I really liked the voice acting in the trailer and the different facial expressions in the talk portraits.
Now, to wait until august...
EXCELLENT TRAILER! Can't wait till August. No possibility of a slightly earlier release?
Have some patience.
Looking good, Grundislav. Shame I couldn't voice the Irish priest for you ;). Fun would've been had by all (except the altar boys).
Ha, awesome edge-of-the-seat stuff, Grundislav! And Carl Orff, you trailer-scoring genius!
Roll on August!
One week until release!!!!
Yay!
I see your Yay! and raise you a Woohoo! ;D
Finally I've been waiting for this game an year!Francisco(Grundislav) you're the MAN!
Wow nice voices.
Congratulation Grundislav for improving game.
I can't stop pissing myself in excitement for this.
Hope it's still on schedule.....two days!!!
There is a remote chance it may be pushed back a day, but I'm working my hardest to have it out on time.
So the games actually aren't finished until the day before it comes out? Wow.

Take your time, Grundislav. We won't love the game any less if it's a week or a month late, and we won't love it MORE if it's clearly rushed, unfinished and buggy.
Looking forward to this game, but won't mind it being a bit late anyway.

Well said. The deadline is your own personal one, Grundislav, so no one is going to mind a bit if it comes out later than you say. We've waited a long time for this game and another day or two isn't going to upset anyone.
Ooh...oooooooooh! I'm all tingly now. This is certainly going ot stop me getting any work done for a bit when it's out.
Hang on...*today*'s the 12th... ;D
I'm basically sitting on the edge of my seat right now.
EDIT: :( Looks like we're gonna be waiting for a bit. Having high hopes for tomorrow. Take your time, Grundislav. We can wait.
EDIT2: Maybe later in the day...? I don't know. Guess it's random. Came out on time for the last game, IIRC. Also, I lol'd at "Ben Jordan Forever".
I can't decide if I want this be released quickly, preventing "Ben Jordan Forever" catching on as a lame meme... or not so quickly, so that the lame meme catches on. Hmmm.
Just have patience. It will be worth it!

I'm being as patient as humanly possible.
Relax guys, I'm happy to report that I got the last set of lines I needed to finish the game, so it will be available shortly.

Shouldn't Grundy be on a plane right now?
Booyah! I'm D-loading right now!
(Not sure what you mean by on a plane, but with a laptop you can work on a plane...)
Thank you Grund, I'll donate to you later when I find the time.
