When the meteor hit, huge chunks of the earth were launched into the Earth's atmosphere. Now, high above the ground, where the air is thin and gravity weaker, there are whole cities, shattered and orbiting the planet.
Some see opportunity here and fly up in pairs - as one waits for the other in their aircraft, the partner searches through these broken midair wastelands for treasures that can be flown back down to people below, where the world is still recovering from the catastrophe, for a fair profit.
But these airborne cities are desolate and empty, devoid of life, for the air up here is too thin to support mammals without respiration equipment.
...right?
This is a doughnut that is part of the AGS Bake Sale project.
Fresh :D
So you will turn the rules upside down? :D
Sounds like a very interesting story and the graphics are cute, as ever!

Rebuilding a new world in teams is a very good theme and soo much fitting to the situation!
... and again a unique title 8)
S3 - Thanks :)
Tabata - Hehe, yes, the title was mean to be a little bit of a paradox :)
Thanks for the lovely comments!
A new kind of pirating, the sky of opportunities, I love it!
Very imaginative and intriguing, and the art is, as usual, beautiful...
Love it! Another masterpiece from Ben. I especially love the bloom, it makes my eyes horny.
Colour me interested!
I love this. LIKE UTTERLY LOVE THIS.
Lovely colour choice Ben!
Another beautiful Ben304 game. I suspect that astronaut fellow will have a lovely voice. ;)
Thank you all for the lovely comments. They are very much appreciated!
Now, if you'll excuse me, my sweets tin has gone missing...
Ben, this looks really sweet!
Thanks Arjon :D
Ben, you just never cease to amaze me. This is pure beauty. The color palette makes it look a bit like watercolor paintings. And the story sounds very interesting, too, should make for a very interesting gameplay!
Thanks Fitz :D
I've made a bit of a slow start because my computer was out of action for a week or two while I waited for a new motherboard, but had a good day today and we're rolling again, so hopefully we can build our momentum real well. Totally inspired by all the other cool bake sale games, this is one fun event :D
Ben, even though you've released quite a lot of games already, I always feel that it's not even nearly enough. And when you release every new game I get excited about it, play it and instantly wish there were more of them. Or that they were much bigger. And there were more of them. :D So it's great to see that there'll be at least one and a half more games by 304 in the near future. :)
As for the game itself - looking great so far (as per usual). The beautiful graphics and quirky inventive ideas are obviously there, so we'll just have to wait and then enjoy playing it, I guess. :)
I feel I should draw attention to Ben's character sprites, which are getting more and more detailed and impressive as time goes on. Looks fab!
Good point, actually!
There's a good history of improvement to be seen throughout Ben's games! :D
Ilyich - Thank you, that's very kind of you! I do love to make games, and have plenty of ideas I hope to turn into games. I have stuff planned out for bigger adventures, but bigger ones mean less of them haha.
Mark and Toby - Thanks; I've been trying to improve my sprites now that I feel my backgrounds are better. There's still a lot to learn though - my job for Falling Skywards is fixing that main character sprite so it looks better 8)
How can the art be so amazing and the cursor not so? :=
Other than that, even if I'm semi-away from our big blue cup forum, I still NEED to post here and say that "Ben: You're fantastic!"
Haha aww, you're a true sweetie Nik (but the cursor stays :=)
Spent a fair bit of my day animating this, trying to make my animations for this the most detailed yet. Definitely looking forward to letting people play it :D
Holy Donut, it's an update!
I painted the last background today :D

And in my glee at painting a plane and certainty that I knew how to paint planes, I got the wheels totally wrong (but am leaving it there for I have a *game* to build)
Bit behind where I had hoped to be by now, but catching up and it's neat to have this milestone crossed off the list! I'm pretty pleased with some of the puzzles I've put in the game, and have a bunch left to still put in, so hopefully I can get the tweaked up so you guys have heaps of fun playing this!
I LUV IT.
Very good as usual, Ben!
I read "...an update!" as "...an up-plane!"
Very nice! :D
The P51 Mustang is my all time favorite plane! Lookin' good!
Ohhhh man me too me too me tooo!
I intentionally bastardized it a little here (never seen one with a 3 blade prop, tried to make the wings a tiny bit more "gull" like, to reference the Corsair and made it a little longer and sleeker looking) but it was pretty obviously the plane I had in mind when I painted the pic :D
It's funny 'cause I said to myself "the wings look more like a corsair and I think the p51 had four props..." but yes, I could still tell the main inspiration :)
Ben, your plane looks a bit like it's celebrating - \o/ :=
I don't know much about planes, maybe this is normal!
Still, badass background. Looking forward to the finished product!
I had this pretty much done, ready for last weekend, but with the extra time we've been given have been going through and working the writing so that I'm happier with it. The game will definitely be ready in time for the bake sale, so hooray :D
In belated answer to Chicky's comment, I wanted to give it gull wings to make it look a bit more unique. It's a little off, but I still kinda like it :=

Hooray indeed! :D
I predict a really tasty cake!
The cake is a lie.

It's more of a muffin, really. And muffins are one of the few things you can rely on in this world. 8)

So we have muffins fallin' skywards here?
In this case I will learn how to fly - (http://s1.directupload.net/images/user/120107/vkptekhk.gif) - sooo yummy!
I'd rather have muffins falling down from sky... ;D
Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to playing this!
Woah, woah - what's that? Another game, fresh from the oven? Mhm, and the crust looks waaay better than that of Fragment!
It's done? Officially? Hooray! ;D

*singing* You tore me to pieces... and threw every piece into a fire...
Aye.
Baking completed.
Falling initiated.
Might I suggest you celebrate by using a snazzy new banner in your sig file? Possibly one with a tasty muffin on it? ;)
