Title: Demo nearly complete for A Day with George
Post by: on Sat 22/07/2006 20:18:34
OK, so this will be my first game since downloading AGS about 2 months ago. This demo will be the first 'day' of several that will complete the whole game; I'm mainly doing it to gauge response and see whether it might be worth starting a larger, more complex project.

The plot is fairly simple. It follows an amateur horticulturalist called Algie Spicerack who finds a living potato in his back garden (like you do). Over the complete game you raise and nurture the potato - the titular 'George' - until he's ready to go off into the world.

Being my first project I've tried to produce this game with the minimum of scripting thus reducing the probability of bugs and need for beta-testing. Regardless of this, I'm sure that many will enjoy the simple interfaces and irreverent humour.

Progress report:
DEMO:
graphics 90%
puzzles 95%
music/sound 90%

COMPLETE GAME:
graphics 50%
puzzles 30%
music/sound 40%

Screenshots to follow as soon is I work out how to upload them.

Shifty indeed. Read the rules.

Krysis, what rule are you referring to?

The FORUM RULES - READ BEFORE POSTING! (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=1987.0) thread - you've broken about half of them. (Must have two screenshots, thread title should be the name of the game, must have a clear outline of plot...)

This reminds me of when I was a noob. Bad times.
Just post some screenshots of your game, a bit of progress, what it's about, and a title, and then you're good.
