go here for more info. be sure to CLICK THE BACKGROUND AND SKETCH LINKS.

This is my first AGS game and I'm taking on a lot of new things to do it.
Things I have never done until now.
Ã,  1. Joined a forum
Ã,  2. Used AGS
Ã,  3. Made my own website

In light of my inexperience with all of these things please bare with me if I make silly mistakes.

So whats going on with this game I am making......
- graphics 5%
- puzzles 5%
- scripting 5%
- music/sound 0%
- website 5%

So you want to know what its gonna look like and what its about...
here is a taste of an actual gameplay shot.

the plot of the game is really quite simple.Ã,  Our hero is a young boy with an unhealthy love of his favorite comic hero
"Turbo Man".Ã,  The town's only theater is playing a special presentation of Turbo Man's movie during school hours.Ã,
This is a ONE TIME ONLY SHOWING! EVER! WE MEAN EVER! So what's a fanatic to do?Ã,  Simple. Skip school and go to the show.
Sound easy....maybe....maybe not.

so what are we looking at? the first shot is of Ben's sister's room.
like most siblings these two do not get along well and you will not be able to just barge right in at the begining of the game.
The second shot is of Ben's bedroom, which is where the game begins.Ã,  the third shot shows the upstairs hall.

added a couple more pics for you to get a better feel for where I'm going. I hope I'm improving....?
the first pic is the master bedroom of ben's house and the other is an unpainted version of ben himself.

anywho...all of this information and more can be found on the website that I am making to document the making of the game and promote it.
please go there and see what i've done. and send me an email!
BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE BACKGROUND AND SKETCH LINKS TOO.

Looks pretty good, and thanks for reading the rules (a refreshing change :) )

I must say I strongly suggest posting the images elsewhere beside on your GeoShitty account.  Because, within about a day of people reading this thread, you'll exceed your bandwidth and the images won't show up (and the site will be shut down).

Search around these forums and you'll find several places to upload the images!

Good luck with the game!

Pathetic response to this thread. Not an inspiring thought. Not sure what I should think about that. Oh well. should I be hurt? or should I take a "no news is good news attitude."? seems clear that I havent been able to generate much interest in this game yet.

Hey Forger my girlfriend and i think that your game is quite prommising keep it up.

And welcome to the AGS.

Don't mind Dart's post he is a moderator and he realy ment good.Scroll down GIP thread and see how many people didn't even read forum rules before they posted ( you can see a bunch of locked topics ).And Geocities are realy bad thing for posting your work.

HERE  (http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/upload/upload.html)here you can upload your screenshots and be sure that thay will be on line 24/7

the game looks promising.

The art looks nice and consistent. I look forward to playing it.

Dont call the response pathetic, its only been up for a day, you'll just discourage people from posting.

Looks pretty good so far. The art is nice and clean, and the main character sort of reminds me a bit of "Charlie Brown", and of course everyone knows Charlie Brown is the "koolest loser" around.Ã,  :=
Looks like it might be a fun game to play.Ã,  Ã, And it's also nice to see a new member following the posting rules here too.

Just a suggesting regarding that super-long hallway screenshot you have on this thread, it really messes up the thread, and forces people to scroll left-to-right, so you might consider resizing that particular screenshot picture a bit to fit within the page here more comfortable. As it makes it really akward to read the messages, if people need to scroll left-to-right constantly, that could also put people off from posting replies too.

Also, you're still quite new here and still "unknown" to the regulars here, and the overall progress of your game still seems to very small percentage so far going by what you tell us what is completed, and as the members tend to see so many "come and go" / "start and stop" type of members and Games-In-Production, then it may take a little while for people to know that you do plan to in fact stick around and follow through your project to completion. And your post has only been up a really short time. AGS members here are from all over the world at various time-zones, so it may take a little while before people see and reply, or also some people may be a bit reserved and taking a "I'll wait and see how it develops" approach.

Darth was paying you compliments actually and trying to be helpful. And like he mentioned, "geocities" is about one of the worst places to host images, as after just a few page / image views, they'll say your account has exceeded bandwidth and/or they'll close down access to your site. So yes, look around for better image-hosting is a good suggestion.

Good luck with your project. Keep us updated from time to time about your progress.

Haha! Do you know that Turbo Man is a "fictional" super-hero that played a central role in a comedy film with Arnold Swarzenegger? I think it was called "Jingle All the Way".

ok, got a few responses. cool, not many... but cool.
1. took your suggestion to resize the hallway picture.Ã,  hope that helps.

2. it would seem that I may have offended people by calling the response pathetic.Ã,  let me clarify what iÃ,  meant by that.Ã,  I was NOT referring to darth's response.Ã,  what I was refering to was the total lack of response by anyone else.Ã,  I just got over excited. I guess I thought that I would get more feedback about what I was showing people.Ã,  I anxiously watched for about 18 hours to see what people would say and when I only got 1 response, and only from the moderator, I was heartbroken.Ã,  I'm ashamed to say. silly I know. So Sorry to anyone who got offended.

3. I did not Know that seaduck....and I should cause I love Arnold.

4. I know geocities is trash but I wanted to get something going fast and I had no idea where to start.Ã,  One thing that can be said for them is that they have plenty of user friendly information for someone who has never done a web page before.Ã,  I was thinking of upgrading to a paid yahoo business account.Ã,  Its cheap, its easy and it has no monthly contract. that should solve any bandwith problems shouldn't it.Ã,  says 250gigs per month.

5. please post.

There's also a boss in Super Nintendo game MegaMan 7 called TurboMan.

About the game, well it seems good. I know this is not a place for critics but if you ask me I think it looks too weird with the books in the shelf in the pink room (which I believe is big sis's room, am I right?). They look out of place. Anyway, I think this game will be on my "games to look foward to"-list.

I like the style of quite serious backgrounds, and as a compensation quite comic characters.. great idea!

I can see that there is already put much efford in the graphics.. why not try to advance the story a bit.. to me it sounds quite not original and not with a good plot.. maybe i am wrong.. and will the story turn out great.. i'll see when i play the game.

important about the graphics; you seem to save the files as .jpg, nothing wrong with that if done in photoshop or something.. but apparently you saved it in a program like paint or something.. the colors got screwed if you look close.. that's a shame.. save them in photoshop or safe it as .bmp in paint (if you dont have photoshop) and send them to a friend who can save them as a good .jpg, .gif or .png.

About the pathetic response, 8 responses are not bad for an "in production thread" which only is aroun like about 2 days now..

Don't be so negative. People don't check here often. I for one usually check every few days and in large clumps. Good work you have so far, nice art. Looks a bit 'mismatched' in some places (i.e the computer) but I like it. Looking forward to your work.
