Story:

There are two friends, who parted in the past. One of them always wanted the world to know about him, the other one, Jinks (player), just wanted to live free life so he became a thief. The first one was fascinated by the darkness and he said to Jinks that one day there will be darkness everywhere and people will plead for a piece of light. After five years, the thief see something strange. In the middle of the day, the sky suddenly turns dark and there is almost no light. When it remains like this for three days, the thief decides to bring the light back (not because he is a hero, but because he knows that light means life). So he visits the old castle where he saw his friend the very las time. Here the story begins...

Evil Pact is going to be a very dark game. You will need to adjust your environment for the best game experience.

Progress so far:
- graphics 50%
- puzzles 25%
- scripting 50%
- music/sound 50%

Specials:
- more ways of solving some problems

Also I need help with the intro and possibly outro. I need 5-6 pictures to be drawn. I tried in recruit a team, but nobody replied, so if you wanna be in the credits, just write me at: lantis@centrum.cz or here.

Cheers!

Well, THAT is pretty dark indeed. But why do you make it that dark? I had to set my brightness (from 67) to 100% to barely identify those dark shapes in the images...

But sounds and looks interesting. I like the font-type too.

Graphics 50% done... Is most of the game or all going to look like those screenshots. I can't judege without playing but I don't see much of anything, except darkness. I gather this advenutre relies heavily on story/text.

LOL: I am reading this at work, and all I saw was black screens; with the little color parts;  because the monitor is up higher than normal and it's an lcd. Upon standing up I saw the backgrounds. Could be interesting.

I also had to adjust my brightness to see something   :(...... ???...... :-\...... :).

I like the idea, I'll make sure to play it, the only thing I would like to say right now is that I dont like that font at all  :P.

Good luck with the game!

I made the font myself :f ) The game is not so difficult to see without all the bright webpage space.

Well, now that my room isn't lightened up by the sun anymore I can see the shapes without adjusting the brightness. I'm curious if the gameplay will suffer from such darkness but it creates an atmosphere.

Yeah, I'll have to agree.  I barely notice whats going on with this.  The only way I can see the backgrounds are when I stand up.

EDIT: Alright, I've adjusted my monitor (from 50 to 65 - out of 100).  I've always hated it this bright because Black shows up as a dark gray.  I remember the last time I adjusted my lcd monitor was for the game FEAR, so that the dark scenes in the game would show up the way the designer intended (not as if it were a fully lit room).

You should probably have a start up screen with a bar of gray scales.  Telling the player to adjust their monitor so that the Darkest of grays will be separate from the black.  It's the only way I can see you getting each and every player submerged into your game the way you intended.

Anyway, I like the idea of your game.  I can see you taking advantage of this 'darkness' in so many ways.  Should be fun.

Just to stop this please put a gamma slider so no-one says wtf or stuff.

Okay everybody ... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that (s)he understands that the images are dark.  No need to keep mentioning it.

This isn't the Critics Lounge.  If (s)he wants advice/critics on the graphics (s)he'll post them in the Critics Lounge.

Lets move on.

I actually think this is a fascinating idea, darkness and all, and even if it doesn't succeed swimmingly, I think it's great that somebody had such an original idea and took the time to realize it with AGS.

I'm loving this idea. And it looks pretty cool to top it off. People should start getting monitors with high contrast ratios, or at least start optimizing the adjustments on monitors. I'm always annoyed when I've designed something dark for someone and then the main complaint is that it's way too dark and can't make anything out.

Anywho, what kind of art do you need for the intro and outro?

Thanks for a good idea!

Also thx everyone else for your comments.

It's a nice concept but I'll wait and see where you go with it before committing too much time too it.
