Flashbax: The full story

So been almost a lifetime since i made the few games using this great piece of software and so many unfinished projects whilst life gets in the way.
My new years resolution was to finish things so on that note one of the many things i never finished was flashbax i made the first part which at the time had some fans and some that hated it and in hindsight i can see it was pretty awful and i used over the mark language and the old man scene i won`t mention to much about that. The game now to me has so many issues that at the time i would never have seen or cared about but the reason im posting is that i never finished it and i had at the time what i called a prequel which was part of the original idea and was supposed to follow on from that story but at the time i just released the first part and could`nt wait to let people play it and then started the prequel only to never finish the thing.

So here i am many years later with a plan to do just that.
The original game made again with the rest of the planned story to make one much bigger game and when i say bigger it`ll probably be at least ten times bigger. I think the original game was around 12 rooms this new version will redo those in a new style and game play but expand on the size of the ship as well as adding the parts that was the original prequel.
The plan is to have it all as one game.
My plan is also to revamp a lot of what i originally did but use the original as a guide so this time yes the old guy will be in but he most probably will not be so vulgar but i can`t guarantee anything as my humor was and still is very much in the south park - family guy vain. But i know i most certainly won`t add swearing or too offensive stuff this time.

Some early screen shots of what it`ll look like:-

OLDER SCREENS SHOTS FROM ORIGINAL FOR COMPARISION

The main character looks like he is about to burst into a song in that pose but reason he is in a gormless stance is i`m still very early stages of building the old games rooms and characters as that will be my basis to build from so no animation or rigs done yet.

So to the plan:

I am hoping that i can find someone to HELP me with this game. ITS ALMOST ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS FOR ME IS GETTING SOMEONE TO HELP.
The reason i want help is im very much out of touch with the AGS engine and scripting now days and the massive task of doing all the GFX and Characters etc will mean i just would`nt be able to re learn whats needed to make the game to a decent standard.

Also i need someone that can reign in my bad ideas and help me build a better playable experience. This would mean working together on puzzle ideas and plot details and help shape the initial ideas into a game myself and who ever helps would be proud of.

So i am plugigng away at re doing all the 12 rooms and characters from the first game and i`ll get all the character animations done before the interested person even starts. The thought i have is if i get all the gfx content sorted for first 12 -14 screens before the person even starts it means whilst they start piecing the game together and scripting etc i could work on get more gfx ready whilst we both work we can also work on the other details etc.
I`m looking to remake the games 12 rooms but i think even if you had played original game you will be familar with the games puzzle alittle but it won`t mean you`ll get thru just by using the old versions puzzles as i quite certain alot will be altered and made better.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So its really a call out for someone that fancies getting involved in a pretty large project that has very good knowledge of AGS and some intense scripting as i `d like very nice style of GUI to be devised and discussed what we can do and someone who maybe gets bogged down trying to make a game and the GFX and animations are quite labor intense so it holds them back.
I am suggesting that i`ll be supplying all the gfx and animations needed for at the very least a remake of the Flashbax game before the person even starts so it should mean they won`t feel im going to leave mid project as happens so much.
I estimate and was aiming for a 100 room game which sounds daunting but i feel with a good side kick doing coding and building the game in AGS and adding there influence to the story and puzzles its all possible.
I made 4 rooms in the last day and half days 3 as seen above so the 100 target is doable if i don`t have to worry on the coding and AGS Gui building side.
So if you are interested please post a reply and i`ll chat to any of those interested and go from there.

Thanks for taking time to look thru this.

Regards Foz
