###UPDATE!###
here is the new screenshot of phoneboot. I still need to change the background with more datail, this just shows how it looks with the character in the game, and a mousepointer ;)

Hi there! I told you already im working on 3 games, and ill now show you the third one! If you seen the movie PhoneBooth and you loved it, as much as I did, your gonna love this game! ;)

If you didn't saw the movie yet, go see him, because this game is about PhoneBooth! It's gonna be probably between 1 and 4 rooms this game... and don't underestimate the length of this game, because just like the movie, almost everything is dialog... and it's gonna be long. So you have to read about alot. I'm kinda following the story of the movie in this game, but at some points i'm going away from the movie script... and different things will happen.

Please tell me what you think of the idea?!

Having seen Phone Booth, and having loved it, I give you this warning.

The movie's power is in its atmosphere. Never before have I seen such an intense movie. This sort of feeling is very hard to mimic in an adventure game, to do the need of using ones brains. So, I think the most important factor in your game should be the atmosphere.

Yes I know... I made with some friends some cool atmosphere music for this game, that should do alot... and furthermore this picture is going to be edited some little, with like the broken robot next to the phonebooth, and glasspieces on the ground...

Just to tell you a little bit about it... theres gonna be also a sniper dot at you... and I'm doing my best to make the dialogs excited...

I wanted to see that movie but it was only showed for two days in the city where I live in... so before I'm gonna play that game I should see the movie. Looks interesting BTW.

very interesting. as said before you have to be very careful with the athmosphere. i personally think that when making 3d background (except in some rare cases) the actors should be 3d too like in grim fandango or even better in gabriel knight 3. so i think the sprites should be also in 3d which can be a lot of work but because you will probably have little sprites in the game it can be done. oh, yeah try to make the background darker, rustier, wetter, more realistic basically.

1. The main character in 3D is almost finished!
2. Yes, this screenshot isn't how its going to be. It's going to be with more effects, and detail! ... so just wait a moment... and ill show you the main character ;)

agsking

Good, except you stole my idea about making a phone booth game :)

About the screenshot, looks good. You should make different rooms that are like camera angles and show everything like the police ext.

Minimi

wow! I thought I was really original with this! I didn't know you wanted to make one too?!!

But yes, as I said It's going to have more rooms, so 1 in the direction of the police, 1 in the directions of the other side of the crowd, and maybee also 1 in the direction of the buildings ahead of you.

may i ask why you chose bell atlantic?  don't they not exist anymore?  i dont mean to say anything bad.  Im just curious. i thought bell atlantic was bought out by verizon.   its odd though, i always hated verizon for awhile for taking over bell atlantic. i thought bell atlantic was a cool name and kinda held a grudge against verizon for a bit.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

well, for making this game, I watched Phonebooth more than 5 times after eachother, and I set the game at pause, to study the screen, and the phonebooth, in the movie says, bell atlantic, so I just paint that in my background.

I don't even know bell atlantic, cause im from holland ;) So that's the reason!

minime: well I started it sort of but didn't plan on really finishing it... I was just so excited from the movie I guess.

scummbuddy: In the movie the phone booth's one of the last booths in that area, and its old. maybe they just didn't change the sign- who knows.

Care showing us a piece of the dialog, Minimi?

Just gimme 2 days... and I'll look up some nice dialog ok? I'm just started with scripting the game... i just finished 2 steps of my plan!

1. planning in my head
2. drawing
3. scripting/dialog
4. animating
5. finishing touch/speech, sounds etc...

I enjoyed the movie and your idea looks very promising. I think you should try to make the phonebooth as much of a microcosm as you can. And you should have lots of stuff happening outside of the phonebooth, such as people walking by, talking to eachother, etc. If done right this will definitely be a cool game.

Good luck,
Jason
