Sueño Milagroso: A New Path into New Mexico's Past

The Story
Sueño Milagroso tells the story of Tomas Romero, a young merchant in 18th century Chihuahua, who comes to New Mexico after receiving a frantic letter from his sister, Teresa. Arriving in Alburquerque after an arduous journey on El Camino Real, Tomas discovers that his family is missing and their property has been confiscated by the government. When Tomas arrived in Alburquerque, he had hoped that the most difficult part of his quest was over. To his dismay, he learns that his adventure has just begun.

About the Game
Sueño is a (partially) grant funded project which is intended to encourage school kids to develop an interest in New Mexico History. Since I'm on a rapidly approaching deadline, the first release is just going to be a still frame point and click game... no animation, no cool walkies. The game does include about 30 minutes of live action video cutscenes (that was the grant funded part) so it's not totally lifeless. If I'm still vaguely coherent after completing the still frame game, I might look at building a more active version of the game.

Maybe.

Looks pretty nice!
If it's educational, you should spell Albuquerque correctly! :=

Looks good. Great that you have established backing for the project. It's for the children...the children.

Ah, but Alburquerque *is* the way they spelled it in 1780. The spelling wasn't changed to Albuquerque until the 19th century. The Americanized spelling starts popping up in maps made after the opening of the Santa Fe Trail. The spelling "Albuquerque" became standard usage when the railroad came through in the 1880's.

In fact, there are a couple of towns in Spain that keep the old "Alburquerque" denomination.

But that's pretty damn well spotted Steve, I hadn't noticed til you pointed it out.

The game looks excellent to me. I don't think the animation (or lack thereof) is a big deal. It all depends on how you set the mood.

But if it's for kids... maybe animations would make it more attractive.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
