Hi, I am 3D Artist and Animator from Illusion Softworks. I am looking for somebody certain to put all of my pictures and animations to AGS engine and make it work well. I work on remake Monkey Island 1 and I would like to use 640x400 resolution, but MI has scrolling in pictures.... I want to have it as well..... so?... its anybody here?
Read the forum rules, man.
Hello. If you import a background larger than the choosen resolution it'll automagically be scrollable.
I think this is not in the correct forum though.
Can we see some of the screenshots?

Not quite sure what you mean. You're an artist looking for a programmer, right?

Scrolling pictures in 640x400 should be no problem in AGS, just make the image 1280x400 or even longer.

I'm not really the person to talk to about this, but I'm sure the others would like to see some examples of your work before committing to the project.

Well if he's REALLY from Illusion Softworks then he's made games like Mafia, Vietcong and Hidden & Dangerous 2... :O

patousek, putting all your "pictures" into AGS is a very easy thing to do, maybe you should try the tutorial.

I know that, silly - I haven't started on AGS yesterday, you know.
I just wasn't sure if the original poster knew. And his request to

makes me think he needs more help than just how to import images.
Sorry Monk, i wrote your name instead of patousek. Oops :)
Ah, ok. No harm done. ;D
I would be interested in seeing some samples before I could drop my own project, to join yours. You will find almost everyone here is busy on their own, so much more information would be needed to swindle people from their own 'babies'.
you work for a nice software company, why use the ags engine????

Ssssssssssh.... You're not supposed to say that ;)
There are bound to be lots of people around willing to help, but first it would be nice to see some screenshots of the pictures you've produced
i dont think he's coming back

Well, Illusion Softworks
is a Czech company (www.is.cz (http://www.is.cz))...
Edit: And his e-mail address does end in @is.cz, too
good point monk, and scott, we dont have your email, nor any other way to buzz you. if you wouldn't mind registering and going to the adventure related talk and chat forum, theres a post for people willing to help others. i garuntee that someone on this forums needs art assistance.
Hover your mouse over the 'email' link beneath scott's nick.
I dunno what I was thinking. How I missed that is beyond me. ??? I think I need a break.
Now, why in the hell sould Patousek (Nickname sounds definetly chzech to me) want to remake MI1? Isn't it quite good without any 3D gfx? Wouldn't LucasArts' hunt him down in a deep, black forest after releasing such thing?
Isn't MI1's main beauty in being super playable and fun game even in the age of gigahertzes and three axis in every computer game?
But If I'd work in some soft company, I'd doubt that using AGS would be any problem to me. And I'd probably wouldn't need to ask someone to help.
This all sounds strange.
guys i think he just wants to do it for himself. if i work for NASA i cant take their shuttles and launch at will :)
AGS is free, he is possibly a fan of the game, maybe he drew/made/animated something and whatever he did he needs a coder to link it all in a game and stuff. Prolly he aint working on this as a company representative so stop flaming him ;)

TheSaint
Maybe he does have interesting work, but someone working for a talented company like Illusion Softworks would defenitely know at least a bit of coding so he can use the relatively simple GUI in AGS. Even if he would just be an texture artist or something in that order.
In any aspect, he might want to show some of his work first to get attention and remain honest.
My apologies if I'm wrong, this were just my two cents.

Right. Nobody's against an AGS game. Especially cool one. So, mr. Patousek, don't be afraid to post more of your idea and show what you've got. I'm sure you'll get the help you need, too. And more trust from AGSers.

I've never met a professional game artist that knows any coding, or had any interest in coding.
Roles in game companies tend to be pretty strictly delineated.
A better question would be why he doesn't want to team up with a programmer at illusion to do an adventure - but maybe there's just no-one interested :(

I rather suspect it's the old "I'm doing this day and night as my job, I don't really want to do any more of it in my spare time for no money" type thing.
Possibly also "I already know five programming languages, I don't really want to learn another one".

I know of atleast 1, doing small mod work as both an artist and coder before getting a job.
