Paradox

I'm working on a game called figments (although the title on the screen is ink) and thought I'd post up a couple of screens to see what people think.

The plot revolves around a failing (and somewhat self-centerd) author who sets out to discover just why life is so unfair.

I really like your art style (though don't expect any real criticism from me, I couldn't do that even if my life depended on it :P), and the plot sounds really interesting! Could you maybe tell us some more details regarding the plot? Oh, and judging from the screenshots, your game will use a first-person perspective, right?

Good luck with your game, hope you'll finish it soon.

Yup, the game will hopefully be in third person.

-More plot details-

During the game you play an author who, for the last six years, has been trying to get a second book published after the medorate succses of their first. The game begins when the PC decides to write a new book, which takes a look at why life is so unfair / depressing / evil. As play continues you slowly begin to loose your sanity as you become obsessed with the book project.

During the game the player meets several characters from the PC's imagination, some are good, some are evil - all of them have their own agendas.

Ooh, another dark type story. I can't wait. Well, I can, I'll wait patiently :)

The BG art does look good, I love the style with thick, dark outlines and you have a good sense of perspective if the first pic is anything to go by. If you're not already planning on doing so, I'd suggest trying to make most, if not all of your backgrounds like that.

Only crit - I'd make the text on the page thinner (not as thick as the outlines on objects) to make it more like it's actually been written, and maybe a little neater.
