I have been waiting for this day

Maybe some of you too

You play the role of Jonathan Crest a rather leet hacker who has kind of gotten himself into some serious trouble recently. Hes just move house into a rather low key apartment to avoid being caught or found. However the plot turns nasty when Jonathan receives a very strange letter...

Some features in the game will include

* Some seriously cool closeups
* A very strange and interesting plot nicely tied into reality...
* A couple of dodgy folks
* A couple of not so dodgy folks
* And well Ill see what else I get up too

Update 2006-04-22 : I decided to redo the window BG as you can see

I have also decided to redo the apartment bg into a more 3d perspective... or angled or whatever you call it.

I also made a cop character but I am having some trouble with scripting one of the in game cut scenes...

Update 2006-04-22 : I Have sorted my scripting trouble I can now semi do it myself

The first cut scene has been done!

Update 2006-05-22 : Exactly a month later and I am sorry to say that not much has been done other than the first cut scene however I plan on investing some weekend time into the game again! Keep you guys posted...

Update 2006-11-26 : Ok, so those of you who think its taking long. I agree, however I am only dedicating short amounts of time to Jonathan Crest. So it will be done. Thanks for all the positive feedback! Anyway have drawn a couple more bg's (conceptual art) Kicked and screamed at my scanner, formatted my pc and safely backed up my progress this far!

Well the story takes us across a couple of locations and yes I mean international...

I plan for this game to be of medium length at least. If it so happens to become a full blown game so be it. I plan on working on it for about 2 months, And I have in one day or rather about 4 hours today created a whole intro Hand Drawn Pics.. Heh heh. (No blur tool)

I just felt the whole project needed to be one style. So I chose cartoon style I am pretty happy with what I have done thus far. And I will tweak around on the last couple of days after the game is complete on some graphics etc. To get the over all better effect. I also plan later on too repaint some of the backgrounds Ive done thus far.. But for now they will remain like they are or else the game will never get done due to graphics needing that perfect look

First BG on my todo list is the very flat looking one of the appartment...

So far I give it the thumbs up Afflict. I like the idea of starting out with a view through the window of the apartment, it does make it a bitdifficult to see things as they are all in silhouette but it teaches you to use the look tool

As I mentioned to you, the intro needs some spell checking (google should work, or even your word processor) and I read really slow so I need some time to read the words.

Great work, can't wait to see the rest of the game.

I thought this looked interesting already when I saw the screenshots in the Critics forum (the mysterious letter, and the way it's showed reminded me of Cruise for a Corpse). Is there a chance we could get just a tiny bit more of the story?

But - maybe it's just me - doesn't the name Jonathan Crest sound a bit too similar to Jonny Quest? At least that was my first reaction when I saw the title screen.

BTW, the silhouette effect is very inventive. I wish I had thought about that one myself.

Thanks GG I dunno thats the name that he has and thats well how its going to stay Johny Quest.. Man thats old. Forgot about that guy.

Anyway To further the story : (as per request)

History recorded a brilliant man who commanded large armies who took what he wanted and was deemed invinsible. The Mongol empire grew and grew up until the event of his mysterious death, some people say that he fell of his horse... others say he was killed y his opponents and then nthere is those who say it was the devil who took his soul for not delivering on time what was promised.

The man I speak of is the one called Genghis Khan a man that was deemed unvulnerable to his enemies. If folk sotries hold ture Ghenghis made a deal with the devil for unequaled strength against his enemies, in return he would give satan the world once he has conquered it. He was presented with the a ring that has overwhelming power crafted by satan spawn. However he never did conquer the world and satan came to collect. The ring was lost... and no one ever spoke of it again...

I would love to tell you guys more the plot dives deeper into how we know the world today with some shady characters floating about and then the letter just complicates poor Jonathans life more.

I dont want to give out any more info I will try and release a short play demo soon! No promises on how soonn

I am having huge amounts of difficulty scripting..

any takers on that part are welcome.

Sorry to say but Wild In The West is going to be a came of commercial standard. Hench this being my practive game. WITW iether be one of two things made after the authenticity of 640 X 480 or 800 X600 the hame will more than likely spot 3d graphics or high res hand drawn ones similiar to what you can see above...
