Post by: The Subliminal Messenger on Sat 21/02/2004 11:30:36
Knight's Quest II - Legends of the Black Hand

A broken land, ravaged by war, desecrated by strife, burnt by the flames of his eternal hatred.

From his throne deep inside the imperial palace, under the watchful eye of his Satanic master, the Black Hand plots to crush the peaceful land of Althador.

Only one man can save the two countries from destruction, and bring down the twin powers of the Black and White Hands, before all is lost.

UPDATE : 24th February

I've put up a short trailer to advetise the game. It contains the introduction sequence and a short preview.

Please download and review!

You play Sir Frank, the greatest of all the king's knights, and it's up to him to save the land of Althador when goblin marauders invade.

He travels to the Republic of the Black Hand, to meet with the Black Hand himself, but soon finds he is an unwelcome guest. He joins up with a local group of revolutionaries, and soon finds out there is more to the Black Hand than meets the eye...

I decided to make the second installment in the series first, so there is no Knight's Quest I. I'm working hard at the game at the moment, and I'm about a fifth of the way through. I used a cross between the hero from QFG and Prince Alexander from KQ6 for the main character, but the other sprites are mine.

The game probabaly won't be out for at least a year, but I'd like to get some feedback on the story and the screenshots.

I might also put up a demo, if I can find hosting.

Please comment, even if it's to flame me, because we could use a good flame war.

Nice. I like the graphics, they're stylish, and the story sounds quite interesting as well. One thing I'm not so sure though is the hero's name, Sir Frank doesn't sound very heroic to me, sorry. :P

Otherwise, everything looks good so far, hope you'll release a demo soon.

The screenshots look great (especially the one in the village with the heads on sticks), and the game sounds very promising overall.

Good luck with the development and I look forward to playing the game.

Thanks for the comments! And although Sir Frank might not sound very heroic, neither is our hero. He's just mildly heroic, and seems to end up it the right place at the right time. There's some comedy in the game too, so it isn' all just heads on sticks...

The trailer's up now, so please download and review.

Thanks.

It is a wonderful trailer. I'm very interested in your game.
The athmosphere is great. It feels like the time has been turned back.  ;)

I just downloaded your trailer - I like, I like! Very nice atmosphere... well done. If the rest of the game retains that feeling, it'll be great.
