Well...  Yes!  ;)

Our leading background artist is currently pushing most of the screens to a higher qualtity level.
We're also planing to put up our own website soon.

There's still much work to do, so if anyone likes to join us...  8)

Frodo

Looks absoulately AMAZING!   ;D
I want to play this game so bad.   :D

Love Sid's shoes, btw!   :)

DutchMarco

...and there I was thinking I had mastered the DOtT-style (for backgrounds) pretty well. Looking back at my efforts I was already disappointed at my own results. Your background artist has done an amazing job! (as has your character artist) Keep it up! Please!...

Fitz

Good to hear - and see - things are progressing! The original version of that location looked great already - but now it looks even more awesome! Keep up the good work!

Sid's grin there sells the character design.

Mister L

Thanks to all for the positive feedback!  :D
We're doing our best!

Glad to hear that! You really helped us getting started back then!  ;D

BTW: The name is Syd - not Sid. ;)

Yeah!

That's really fucking cool. I'm looking forward the website and the completed game. ;)
Perhaps I can contribute in between times some music-files. ;) Do you want to use midis or mp3s?
Do you want to integrate Hoagie and Laverne, too?

Greetings

Have you tried contacting adventuredevelopers.com ? They probably will offer some server space for this.

Btw, this looks amazing.
(And I never played the original.)
Veteran, writer... with loads of unreleased games. Work in progress.

Monsieur OUXX

Be careful if you have antialisaed objects in the foreground (the black golf clubs) because the characters can't be antialised the same way, so it might look awkward when they walk there. I'd advise to test the result before extending that practice to every room.

Mister L

@ 1mal_volltanken:
Hoagie and Laverne will not appear (at least not as main caracters). Remember, they meet the Edisons in Dott for the first time.

@ jannar85:
We already have our own webspace at www.maniac-mansion-mania.com  8)

@ Monsieur OUXX:
Don't worry, we'll keep that in mind.  ;)

gee whizz. Looks totally awesome. I may take on a room (single) as a project.

My work: http://www.bruandboegie.co.za

But your graphic artist is cooking it. Impressive.

Here's something I doodled recently for my own game test

edit by darth - please don't post unrelated art-work in the thread, thanks!

Cool stuff here. I have some experience with animation. I may want to help.

Mister L

Today we proudly present our own website for 'Night of the Meteor'!  :D

http://www.night-of-the-meteor.de/en

The page is in german and english language, including usefull stuff like a guestbook, contact page and a fourm.
Of cause there are some new screen-shots we've never shown before and other informations about the game.

We'll try to update the page as often as possible - so stay tuned!  8)

Happy Halloween - from the NotM-Team!  ;D

Nice website.  I like the main banner art :).

Frodo

Love the website.   ;D

The whole
'A story of Love  • Lust  • Power  • Greed
• Wealth  • Insanity  • Burglary
• Kidnappng • Medical Experiments
• Nuclear Reactors • Microwave Ovens' etc
really made me laugh.  LOL

I can't wait to play this.  Excellent work!   :D

blueskirt

That improved cellar background is mind blowing, and so is the screenshot with the flashlight on your site. I just can't wait to get my hands on this!

Cyrus

JUST MAGNIFICENT!!!!  ;D ;D Best of luck to you!

Tabata

I took a peek on your new website - looks professional - good luck!

I'm watching  8)

Tramponline

Good to see you guys are up and running! Great website! Congrats.

MM. - my first adventure game ever, back when I was ten on my 'powerful' C-64.
Didn't even know what PUSH & PULL meant at that time - but the wooden gargoyle taught me eventually :P

Perhaps your amazing graphics will help to open up this almost ancient
classic to a new generation of players.

Can't wait to give it a spin! All the best!

Mister L

Thanks for all the positve feedback, folks!  :D

Here's a small update in which we show a new animation from the game:
