From the intro

Dixie gets in trouble

Dixie Schele, professor of Anthropology at the University of Texas, Austin, is investigating ruins in Mexico when she is thrown back in time to the age of the Maya. She must avoid crazy customs, evade crazed rulers, and appease cranky gods to find her way home.

Look for it sometime in 2004! [EDIT] Ok, maybe 2006 is more realistic. *Sniff*

(Now I've announced it I've got to finish it.)
Cheers,
Steve

Update 6th Oct 2005
--------------------------
This is still semi-in-production.
It's been on the back burner for a while though.
I recently went on holiday to the Yucatan and visited some Mayan sites, which was awesome.
I'll get back to working on it more when I finish IVSpy.
Realistically, I'd say Plot is only at 70%.

The plot and graphics look really good, this game seems it's going to be excellent. But the name... is it your final word? Because it doesn't sound good, what is it a wordplay with the 'Vaya con Dios' expression?

Kairus, yup it's a play on words. Sorry. My style.
It's not a final name necessarily, but it's growing on me...

jaz, the name Schele comes from Linda Schele, who was a UT professor as described, see for example
http://www.famsi.org/research/schele/ (http://www.famsi.org/research/schele/)

Darth and Petteri, you can surely be beta testers. I might need some music too (later)...

Cheers,
Steve

What style of music would you be a-wantin'? I'd love to help out if I can...

Pun-tastic!
And not bad for programmer-art.  ;D

PS: That simple style GUI looks kinda like that mockup I emailed you a while ago. Strange how these coincidences crop up, eh?  ;)

What a nice and cute and young professor  :D
But why did she turn blue... did she meet the maniac mansion asteroid? ;)

modgeulator,
I was thinking about some mystical style midis, with something more dramatic in the same style. A couple of examples are mystisky.mid and newage1.mid which you can get here:
http://web2.iadfw.net/aars1/Midi/Universe/ (http://web2.iadfw.net/aars1/Midi/Universe/)
I'd love it if you could help out - I won't be *needing* music for months though.

James,
Cheers, I think.
The GUI is pre-your mockup, honest. I'd just been playing one of foz's games, so I ripped him off, not you :)

Totoro,
I should play Maniac Mansion. Maybe I'd get some ideas!

mätzyboy,
It sure is a Swedish army knife! Following on from the Norwegian army knife in III Spy...

Though I'm looking forward to the game, and it doesn't look bad at all, the title is, simply put, terrible. Sorry. Keep in mind John Cleese's three rules of comedy: No puns, no puns, no puns!
I'm sure you can think of something better.

Well, I guess there's a first time for everything.  ;)

If you don`t finish it you will be thrown back in time to the age of the Maya.....

Where you will have to avoid crazy customs, evade crazed rulers, and appease cranky gods ...

What a great idea!Ã,  I never met Linda prior to her death, but from talking to some of her old students, I think she would get a kick out of being portrayed in a game.

Dixie is quite a bit easier on the eyes though...

Looking forward to the game, please let me know if I can help.Ã,  I'll probably be encouraging the game among my associates in the archaeological community.Ã,  You may have a cult classic on your hands (no pun intended).Ã,

This thread is one and a half years old. I doubt the game's been in production for a long while.
