Clown at the Circus
- happiness is underrated -
4th of October 2006
The time has become to make a production thread for point'n'click game "Clown at the Circus".

Some of you might even have played the demo which was my entry to August MAGS. Out of two games, CatC was selected as a winner! Thank you, voters.

The demo was whipped up in couple of days. After that the progress with the rest of the game has been slower, but more steady for few weeks now.

Background:
In the game you are playing as a little bit incompetent and wretched, but still sympatethic clown. The problem is that in the last town where the circus you are working in was, no one laughed at your jokes. Thus the ringmaster is about to throw you in the streets.

And, seriously, that is something we can not tolerate, can we?!

So you must do whatever it takes (preferably what ringmaster says) and save your red nose out of this trouble!

Screenshots:

Is he your first target? He looks like someone who laughs easily, doesn't he?

It is not easy to be funny all the time.
Luckily some equipment may help you out.

Progress (last update 04/Oct/2006):

  • Characters (less than 10)

    • Ready for most parts.
    • Every character is drawn, minor changes may occur.

The clown has had a little bit of face lifting after the demo (not enough, I know, not enough ;)).

It is still possible to bring out your ideas. Also as declared earlier, at some stage I will need help with the tunes, since I'm not capable of composing myself. Anyone who would be interested allready, please drop me a PM.

I hope it is not very long anymore that the final version is out. I will not declare any release dates, but I am optimistic to constantly have time to work on this.

Thank you for reading. Updates will follow. :)

The game looks cool. Download link doesn't work, though.

Looks interesting :) Now I'm downloading the demo.

Edit: Now I've finished the demo, it was simple and enjoying. Good luck with the full version of the game.

You were fast! I noticed it too and fixed it as fast as I could, but not fast enough it seems. ;)

Should work now.

Buckethead

This is just great! I could just sit here and watch those screens all day!  :D

Ubel

Man I truly dig those interface graphics! :D

Heh, it's difficult to find anything that's not awesome in this game. Good luck with it, and I hope to see it released soon enough. :)

gameboy

Looks really great! :)
Can't wait to see this one finished.

Not to worry.I can do the voice of your "skating-on-thin-ice" clown.Just look at my resume entitled "Hey!!I need a voice-acting job!!" and give me a script (that is,if you hire me.)

Oh, I'm sorry, but there will be no voice acting. Only music and effects. :(

Thank you all for encouragement and nice words. I'll keep on working! :)

Buckethead

I have been looking at the screen for some time now. And I find them great though, I don't the black stuff. It's not the size of the BG's but the fact that the border is black.  It looks so not colorfull. But giving it a circus color might draw away the attention on the actuall BG.... oh soo hard...  :P
