Title: MoNSTeR
Post by: on Sun 18/02/2007 11:27:29
:D A preview of the adventure game I am creating.

http://meverhagen.nl/adventure/monster1.tar.bz2 (a 10mb download, it can take some while to download depending on the number of people downloading ..)

Is very graphical with realistic moving characters and cool sceneries.

I have to do a lot before it is a playable game, but I wanted to let i see.

(ps Don't worry about the language since there aren't any dialogs in yet)

Walk through the different sceneries and collect the items to open the cave.

I must say, this is extremely exeptional! I love it in a way. I just think, if you wan't crits, the second bg is a bit different to the rest. But I kind of love it. I wonder though where you got the character from. Looks a bit odd, but odd in a good way! :D

Looks interesting! Your backgrounds are really nice. That character really needs some clothes though. It's like Brian May with boobs. Quite disturbing.

the backgrounds aare fine, but i think it will be better if the character stile is like the background.

I have to agree breast with Stan and Joe, the breast character-background style breast inconsistency is a matter that should breast be looked into breast.

I made the character myself.
Anyone can do this it isn't hard to do.

First you need a mesh of a body, make it with http://sourceforge.net/projects/makehuman/
and export the mesh to a .obj file

Second you need the movement. Use a .bvh file for this, I have included a few links in the doc dir to free .bvh motion capture files.

Now import the .obj mesh in blender and import the .bvh file over it. You will need a plugin. (If you haven't got a plugin, download blender the bvh inpoter plugin is in the .blender (hidden dir), copy this to ~/.blender/scripts)

Parent the created skeleton to the body mesh and create names only and assign the verticles to the correct verteces. The are good docs alover the internet on how to do this.

Now you can animate it and exort it to a series of png's with blender.

It's a cool technique, however it takes some time to master it.

Help is always welcome.
However the translating is the last stage of proces of making the scenario.
It is gonna be multilangua gamel, ofcause in dutch, engels but I also want it in the gronings dialect. (Most of the scenaries come from groningen.)

Tnx in advance !

Yes the character should have the same style as the background. I will have to do some texturing and add some nodes to make this happen.
