Yes, this is actually a "great new game! Need Help!"-kinda topic, but hear me out.
I am currently in the process of finishing the design document for Murphy's Law 1: The John. Plot & puzzles have all been finished, except for the easter egg-type puzzles. Dialogues and descriptions still need to be written. This, I will do myself (so i'm not going to be the "director" who does nothing and takes all the credit - asset 1).
THE JOHN will be the first installment of what i hope will eventually become a series of games under the name of Murphy's Law, centered around John Murphy and his date from Hell. After this first episode i intend to give out all artwork, music etc. to whomever wants to build a sequel. In that respect, it's to be a concept not unlike RON.
Am i being very unrealistic? NO! As 6 Day Assassin proved, even a one-room game can be challenging and entertaining, and that is exactly what i'm doing with Murphy's Law: one-room adventure games, filled to the top with challenging puzzles, funny dialogues, easter eggs...the works, only situated on a square centimeter instead of wasting time with 60 rooms that will never become reality. And it will be a bit longer & harder than 6 Day Assassin, too!
So no, it might actually work - asset 2.
In this first episode, THE JOHN, John Murphy, on his date, slips off between drinks for a quick dump. He finds himself in the most atrociously filthy lavatory in the world. Will he be able to relieve himself of his sanitary urge without getting his clothes all messy? What's a used tampon doing in a men's toilet? And what does Stevie Wonder have to do with it...?
All I need are a background artist and a programmer to let you find out...plot, GUI & inventory art i'll do myself, and we'll worry about music later.
As for background art i'm aiming at the real oldskool Sierra 256 color VGA look, not unlike Laura Bow 2. If you can do this, let me know!
Anyone interested in commenting so far?
Oh, and a little bit about myself: on the internet I go by the name of Kwark, 25 y/o, living and working in Holland. I'm an American studies major by day and radio technician by night. I'm a published poet, hobbies include photography and music. For a while I was on the sflah team, so i know a little bit about what goes on behind the scenes of a game project, although i have not previously finished a game before.
Your game sounds cool. Coincidentally, I'm also in the process of making a game that's supposed to start a series of games. Let's hope we'll both do it :-)

Yeah, it's definately going to be cool if you like fart jokes...like me :).
Your concept sounds promising too, best of luck to you!
I think a series of 1 room games sounds great!

It does, doesn't it?
Now if only there would be a skilled artist willing to help out (just one room!), it might even become reality... :D
Just one room? hmm.. nah, I'll get killed if I help out on any more games :(
Good luck with it though, I love the idea of a series of one room games.
Indeed you would.
