Hey all,
Just wanted to inform you all that once again I am working on a game :P
And I really hope to finish this one.
The story is simple and a bit cliche. The theme is medieval. You play as the young lad named Quincy who was sold as a baby on the market by your parents because they were too poor to raise you, to a wizard who doesn't like hard work. He raised you, and made you do all the hard work around. On your 20th birthday you have a strange dream. You see a rune carved in a cave wall and a big treasure chest full of.. Well treasure :P After you wake up you ask the wizard about the strange rune and he looks it up. It turns out the rune leads to a valuable artifact. Since it's your 20th birthday, the wizard tells you about your past. He also mentions that he promised your parents to release you on your 20th birthday, so you are free to go. You decide to go after the artifact. That's where the story starts. Your first task is to gather a group/party for your travels.
Your party will have up to four members, and you can switch between them. Several puzzles
can only be solved by specific characters. All the members share one inventory, so there is no annoying item exchanging.
Here are some screenshots:

Sounds like a winning formula.
Love the screenies, especially the first one ;)
Very interesting stuff. I'm looking forward to it :)
Great stuff, I really hope you finish this.
You left the 'a' off the end of the sign in the second screenshot...

Ahoj!
The graphics is absolutely awesome!
What programme did you use???
Did you make the concept art on your own too?
Hi Def,
it looks absolutely sweet. Simple yet beautiful. Also I have a soft spot for medieval ages so I'm definatelly looking forward to this game.
Just an update:
The first act (1 of 4) is done and is being tested. I will
release the first act as a demo. I am working on the
second act now, and he's a preview:

Progress report eh :) Well, I havn't worked on it much (the demo that is, I have been working on act2) but I should have the demo done soon. I know the bugs, and I just have to fix them. Hopefully I'll be able to force myself to finish it this week. It's just that working on the rest of the game is much more fun :-\
fair enough
-OSC
just a bit of motivation def,
you really have to finish the demo! i wanna play neverquest!!!
go fix the bugs now!
-OSC
Alright I think I fixed most of the bugs. No doubt it still
has some :) But I'm just running through the demo a last
time, and adding some sounds. I'll upload the demo in a bit.
bin 40 minutes, upload it dammit!
-OSC
Alright, after some pc problems I have uploaded it. Get
it here:

YES! you have brought light to my sunday ;)
-OSC
To get Lunchalot sober:
Spoiler
You'll need someone to make you a hangover remedy. A special potion
Spoiler
Ask the apperentice mage, you can find him in the clearing
I'm stuck
Spoiler
Where I can find a helmet? I have the fish skin, the bottle of poison....
Bugs report :)
Spoiler
*when you use the poison jar on the boy, he says that he should empty it instead of drinking it... but in the inventory, the jar remains full filled.
* in the hidden part of the forest, there's a tree (at the right) with the label "Sir L..."
* after helping him with his headache, the drunk sir told you to meet him in the hidden place...I saw/told to him in this place BUT he's also still in the tavern room!
* The gards' speeches are a little bit weird...why don't you display "Bla Bla Bla Bla"?
* The game crashed one time when I came from the beach...the map was displayed and a fatal error occured (error about a GUI positions < 0,0 ????)
* When I'm killed by the knight, I "retry again" and open the load GUI...but instead of it, the save gui is displayed and the game freezes (maybe, the"Quit" option should bring the player to the title screen (with New/Load/Quit options).
* It's not a bug but the keyboard mini game is a little harder when you use a azerty keyboard : w-z a-q
Spoiler
When you know you need the helmet, go see the blacksmith, and he'll give you a cardboard helmet. You need to make that look like chainmail somehow... By the way, how do you get the poison off the archer guy?
aga:
Spoiler
The archer want to shoot something...a bird will be a perfect target
Woa thanks for the bug report, nope! I'll look into it
I love the humour in this game.
The "arcade" random encounter made me laugh out loud.
I've noticed some bugs too. For some reason the overlays during the guard's conversation appear one of top of the other.
Keep it up, I'm loving it.
I finished the demo.
I enjoyed it... except few points:
Spoiler
1- the gradient background of the portrait pictures...it doesn't fit with the general design.
2- the dead bird: I don't see the interest to show a bloody animal corpse...ok, maybe, I'm a big sissy.
3- the main screen: "Neverquest" shouldn't cover the head (of the knight)...maybe, you should flip -horizontal- the knight.
Few bugs:
Spoiler
1- I couldn't obtain the helmet from the blacksmith when I had the arrows and the poison jar: I needed to restart the game and , this time, the dialog ends correctly: I obtained the item.
2- The blacksmith says that the helmet build by his son costs 7 coppers...I have 8 coppers..so where is the 1 copper left?
3- when the boy enters in the AG house, he stands behind the two adventers....maybe those chatting guys should be moved to the right to allow the player to see his character.
Anyways, good job :D
[/spoiler]
Thanks peeps, and thanks for your comments nope. Especially that first bug you mentioned. I think I accidentally used a globalint twice or something :) I'll make sure I'll fix them bugs!
Spoiler
I can't get the helmet. I talk to the blacksmith, and he says he will give me a cardboard helmet for 7 coins, but when I try to give him the coins, nothing happens.
Potch, that's a bug I found and told def, best you can do is start over again and hope what ever sequence didn't get triggered triggers this time
oh and also: def
I found the secret antigravity boots and used them and this happened. I couldn't get him down so he floated off to one of the planet's moons where the cutscene played where the space knights were introduced... just thought you should know i found it
http://sylpher.com/kafka/junk/wendyicanfly.gif
I tried restarting the game, and I STILL can't get it. :'(
Potch: restart the game and take only the items that you need for each puzzle step by step...or ask someone to send you a saved game ???
I'll try to release a fixed version of the demo tonight,
sorry for the inconvience caused.
Great demo, can't wait for the full release!
Only thing that bugs me is that you can't overwrite save games so I had to delete some save files when there was about 10 saved games :P
Finally I'm able to respond to this damned thing without being disconnected 50 fricken times!
This demo rocks ass! You've got an awesome game going here ;D
Keep up the great work!
Splendid intro, background effects...could do without that music that's been used a hundred times, but it's still great :)
