Quote from: Studio3 on Wed 17/08/2011 20:54:06You do realize that the rules state that there must be at least two in game screenshots however it never said it matter what room it was taking in. I am aware that there are two shots taken in the same room however they are both taken at different times. I included the menu shot because it was cool looking to me. I will update it possibly today if I can however if you don't want anyone to post screenshots of the same room then you should really say that. Cause as far as I see it I did follow the rules.

I do not think you could have proven my point more perfectly even had you been intentionally trying to.

You see it wrong.

Quote from: Snarky on Wed 17/08/2011 21:12:25You broke Darth!  :'(

To everybody else; I'm not "broke" at all! I made a judgement call to not lock the thread because while there is only 1 actual screenshot there is a menu screen and some kind of ... sprite? ... represented.  I've been lenient on that before with others.  What I am not lenient on is off-topic ramblings cluttering up GiP threads!

On that ^ note... any more off-topic-ness will give me what I need to lock this thread so, by all means, keep it coming.

Snake

No, this is horseshit. I'm not nice like boss. This thread is getting a temporary lock until you have another screenshot out of the 18 rooms you have completed. Here's why:

1.
QuoteThey must be actual screenshots of 2 (or more) different backgrounds.

2. You are arguing about the forum rules when you don't even know what they are (see above).

3. This is a reoccurring problem with you.

4. This thread is getting out of hand.

5. (edit) And you know what, it just irks the shit out of me that you claim that this is your last OSD game... like it's some sort of big parting with the series and shit... YOU'VE MADE NONE! And I'm talking about a completed OSD game here, by the way, not these incomplete games in production you have jizzed all over the forum.

Please do not contact me to be unlocked, contact Darth. While you are PMing him, I would suggest that you apologize for arguing over something you were wrong about. Why? Because that guy has put up with more of your shit than I have since the beginning.

Next time and every time after this, follow the damn rules, would you?

Go on.
Grim: "You're making me want to quit smoking... stop it!;)"
miguel: "I second Grim, stop this nonsense! I love my cigarettes!"

Darth Mandarb

I have unlocked this ... any more nonsense and the Sith will strike back!

Khris

I have to ask because it bothers me everytime I see it:
Why include the window borders in the screen shots, and why scale them down if they are already 320 wide, which is perfect to show them on the forums?
Why not simply use the built-in screenshot command of AGS? Putting it in repeatedly_execute_always after an IsKeyPressed allows to take screenshots during dialogs.
The result is a (in your case) 320 wide bmp which you convert to a png and upload, done.
But even if you didn't know all that, why include that fugly windows xp border?

Regarding the game: OSD is a parody. I fail to see that in this game at all. You simply slapped the name onto another one of those generic Square wannabe "games" you keep churning out. Why not stick to PMQ and leave OSD for people who do it justice?

@Khris: I don't know why I didn't think of that at first. I will go back and fix them like tomorrow when I get the chance.

Also there is some elements in this game that relate to other games. I thought that out a head of time. I like OSD games a lot however I want to stop making them. I want this to be the best OSD game I ever made :D.

The DSexport in test mode.

Here is and a example used with Monkeys OSD game. It is a real simple process to export it. It will however take you a "sec" to import the file. Unless there is a way to have the player search through folders on their HDD from with in a AGS game.

I often wondered, myself... And I've decided that he doesn't see it that way, surely, because if he did he wouldn't make all the 74 OSD games (including the unreleased ones and imaginary ones)!

It's scary to think what'd happen if our Icey played Monkey Island and decided to have a go at making a sequel. ( [Load your old Monkey Island save games to receive a bonus rubber chicken...] ).

Actually, please, consider this! After we've all played and enjoyed the final  best OSD game maybe  you could try doing a 'versus game', you know, like "Guybrush Threepwood VS PMQ" ki nd of thing, and get a  job at Lucasarts instead?;)

Icey

I would to do one of those game with a Lucastarts style as well. However I would have to study how that fight game works. Otherwise I'm better off making a RPG style version. :(

@Khris: I hadn't had the chance to do it. However I will do it in a sec.

Grim

Ok. But what about understanding that it's a parody? Like Naked Guns movies- they're not real life drama either, right? ;) I'd really love to hear your explanation of this.

Icey

I no it's a parody. I didn't just learn this however it did take me a while. I already stated that this game my seem like my "Square wanna be" games however I wanted to add those Funny elements to the game that makes a OSD game a OSD game.

Oh and Khris I fixed them.

There will be an optional Superboss. Once you are able to explore the ocean there will will be a area that gives you the option to enter a check out the water or keep moving. The SuperBoss will be Penix Weapon, It's HP will most likely be at 1,000 or higher depending on how high the players HP can get at max level.

-Coming soon

The game has a easy lvling up system. Your bound to kill it any ways due to the amount of time going through the story.

1 is a demo, 1 is a beta and another wasn't released. Those don't count... So, with that said, I count 4 on that list, if you include this game.

Icey

I copied and pasted. I wasn't paying attention to what I did. There is a beta and a full game. Also what the list is saying is that those are all the OSD games I started. I may have not finish a the 3rd war. but that still leaves me with 7.

News time!
The boat battles will be similar to the ones see in Ponchs games but with a lot of tweaks.

1. The boats will use canon balls however you will also be able to use some of you ability commands to deal damage to the target.

2. The boat that you use will be able to use a Soul Limit made just for Boat battles.
Canon Furry - Fires 5 canon balls at the target, all in one turn. You will lose 5 Canon
balls by do so as well.

3. We the player runs out of Balls :D and MP you get an instant Flee.

4. Winning a boat battle will allow you to take over the surrounding area. Doing this good thing will result in being able to explore more of the world map.

5. There is one more but I forgot it :X I will post it when I reminding.

Icey

News time

When I started work on this game I thought of a lot of new things I wanted to try that has never been done in anyone of my games.

I wanted to try a Grid-based leveling up system. Though I hate this in most game I thought I could give it a go and make it more user friendly.

Spirit Grid - the new lvling up system

During battles you will be given +1 point for every attack delt on a target. These points get added to your SGp(spirit Grid points) so you can later use them to unlock Spirit Blocks.

Spirit Blocks are the boxes seen on the grid. there are a total of 17 blocks that can be unlocked with SGp. At the beginning of the game all blocks are hidden thus can not be unlocked. However there is one block that is not hidden. Unlocking this block will reveal the hidden blocks around it. Now that these blocks can be unlocked so can others by repeating the unlocking step.

Now even with that being said the classic lvl up system still remains[EXP] You will get your main level ups from battles. Think of this as a Bonus.

WHAM

So the Spirit grid is the precise same thing as FF12 unlock system?
Save for the fact that the blocks revile each other, instead of being revealed.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself there!  ;D I'm outta here!

Spirit Grid is similar to these. Mostly the first img.

Now these is sorta what gave me the ideas. I can't think of any other RPG that does this though. So please don't blame me for FF being the only examples.

ddq

Time for ddq's DID YOU KNOW fact of the day!

DID YOU KNOW that those are three of the shittiest leveling systems ever conceived by man? It's true!

You're also gonna have a tough time balancing it, especially if you give points based on every attack vs enemy defeated.

Come on, his problem isn't balancing and game design, his problem is implementing even the most basic features necessary for a game to work like that. ;D

So if I go against the weakest enemy of the game, hit him and heal him, I can get infinite points? Yay! I wonder why Square Enix never thought of doing that!
