cool! so atlast you decided to post it here! it looks great! and roxy is a foxy lady. it's gonna be fun, i can tell.

in the 1st screenshot, i would scale down the characters a bit (use roomscaling) since they look a bit big in comparison to the trees.

good luck on the game, and hope to see it finished soon!  ;)

Looks really good so far, nice character, just a small point though, i'm really puzzled as to why you want to make a 'retail' version of the game? To be honest if you're hosting the game for free then i seriously doubt anyone wil pay out for a jewel case and a few extra documents. I think you'd do better to just host everything freely.

Keep up the good work :)

Foxy indeed... *Grrrowl*  ;)
Love the art, really excellent job.   I like your story idea too.
Looking forwards to seeing this game in action.  Keep us updated from time to time... and, any more pics of "Roxy" would be a real treat too.
Good luck.

Hey all, thanks for your very motivating messages, appreciated!
Of course I will keep you guys and girls updated as much as possible, I am really working much on the game, but I'm a slow worker..
About that seducement animation.. I am still working on it.. when it's finished I will probably put it on the Critics Lounge first.

And boys (and some girls).. please keep your pants on while surfing this thread.. i know it's hot in herre but keep yourself under controlÃ,  ;D

Quotei'm really puzzled as to why you want to make a 'retail' version of the game
Actually.. it was more of a sort of donation-kind of thing.. but I think i will skip it since there already is a donation button on the website as well, or skip the donation thing in stead.. i thought it was a nice idea at the time.. and i thought maybe the playboy edition with Roxy Fox in it would be a nice extra if put some efford in it 8). It's like more games do, a normal free edition, and a payable version with extra's in it, just more as for the fans. I am not really sure about this all, one thing is for sure.. the normal game will be for free.. so no worries.

Anyways.. thanks for even have the efford for looking on the website, appreciated!

This game looks like it will be really fun!  I don't care how slow you work or how long it takes, so long as you finish this game!  Look forward to the final product,

Say Don, will you be needing any voice acting at all?
If so, I am game.

You should make the talking portrait bigger. Right now it's the same size as the sprite's head (or close) so it's redundant.

It could be just me, but I like LucasArts-style or Cocktel Vision-style speech much better.

Every time I see a Sierra-style dialogue, it just like if someone slapped me in the face and said: "It's not real, it's just a story/book".

(This applies especially to seeing a message box saying what I did "You took the bread, but didn't touch the mouldy cheese." instead of seeing the character actually doing it, and possibly commenting on it...)

I really agree with Seaduck. I too prefer the message over the character's head and talks through the mouth rather than using a window with the portrait of the character.

The separate portrait picture is a good way to include a closeup of the character's face (which you may not ever see in low-res). This can give you, as an artist, an opportunity to explore details that make your character unique. A portrait can also be used to show lip-synching or facial expressions.

wether we feel it suspens belief or not I am sure we all agree the portrite is a tad small.

Guys, I am not sure yet about how I am gonna do the portraits, but if I'm gonna use this dialog style I will remember to make the portraits bigger bigbro.

For JayWolf, thanks for giving your voice for the Roxy Fox game, but I am not planning to use any voice sounds of characters. Appreciated tho..
