Title: Starlit Grave (MAGS January 2015)

Starlit Grave is a very short intro to a game set on a space ship based around the theme: Aftermath.
I had recently come back to game making and the January MAGS theme really inspired me.
However, I started about 3 weeks late, so what I have so far is not exactly everything I wanted to get done.

My main aims were as follows:

To use a very low resolution using the new AGS build.
To have a no voice acting RPG-esque speech style.
To to try to design a 1-click or 'tap' interface that could be used universally (PCs, phones, tablets etc).

The game will be released in full not in sections or 'episodes'.
The sections are merely going to be a way to break up the game story-wise and to help get play testing done quicker.

Expected completion date: Summer 2016

Development Diary:

Released the first version of Starlit Grave. Introduction almost fully implemented along with about 20% of Section 1.

I would love some feedback on what people think about what is essentially a proof of concept at the moment. E.g.
- Do you like the interface?
- Does it need more explanation or more of a tutorial?
- Did you like the relatively serious story mixed with a pixelated style?

If you have other feedback related to graphics or questions about how I achieved some of the interface/game design then please feel free to PM me.

- Do you like the interface?

Yep! It makes sense for smartphones, in my opinion.

- Does it need more explanation or more of a tutorial?

I found it very easy to pick up and play, but I've been playing adventures for years.

- Do you think the graphics fit with the relatively serious story?

Yes. It reminds me of The Last Door, which has super, super low res and yet a serious story. I think the less you show, the easier it is to believe the appearance, sometimes.

Overall, I found this very enjoyable and would love to see more. The gameplay was sensible and fun, the presentation is lovely and there's a lot of polish evident in the project. I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Hi ThreeOhFour/Shaun9991, thanks for the feedback so far, everything you have said is very encouraging!

I was hugely inspired by The Last Door (great game) but will be making every effort possible to not mix resolutions just to make the graphics work easier on me.

Darth Mandarb, I'll rephrase that question as I'm not looking for feedback on the graphics per se. It's as good as they get I'm afraid, I'm no artist hah ;)
