Title: Stick Quest
Post by: tombom62 on Mon 22/09/2008 01:10:20
Hi, I just wanted to tell evryone (sp) about my new (short) game i'm working on. :)
it's called Stick Quest.  you play a person who was transformed into a stick figure on a whiteboard.

here are some screenshots:

outside of a house.  note the tally mark fence.

in the house.

let me know about what you think, and any questions. ;D

Crazy good idea, especially if the graphics are actually drawn on a whiteboard and not photoshopped. The player obviously would need to be drawn separately, but I'm giving extra points if in fact the environment animations are really animated traditionally on the whiteboard :D. Not as if this were the crits lounge, but I'd suggest adding erase-marks and random faint scribblings to give the bg's texture, though. Looks very cool!

Well, I wanted to do it from a real whiteboard, but i couldn't scan it in.  I used this cool effect to make it look like dry erase board.  I will mby do the random erase marks and faint scribble, thx for the idea!

Great idea, looks like something fun to play around with. I know a whiteboard won't scan, but have you thought of setting up a camera and doing it stop-motion style? But I guess that might be a bit too much work to get all the images in.

Anyway, can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'd suggest changing the cursors to something of a similar style.

I think this looks neat too.  Just a thought, but it might be cool if you could always see the edges of the whiteboard? Good luck with your game!

Thanks!
