Panic Gate is the current project for the new development company Matchstick Entertainment.  It is a live action thriller that puts you in the life of Greg Stevens.  Greg is your average everyday reality show contestant who is having a bad day.

You are Greg Stevens, a contestant on the hottest reality game show in America, Panic Gate.  At first, it seems like your typical run of the mill show, but soon things start going wrong.  Contestants begin getting killed, and eventually even the crew turns up dead.  Is this the curse of old man Isaac Holland's ghost?  Or is this the scariest TV show hoax to date?  Maybe one of the contestants is to blame.  Only time and your cunning instincts can figure out the truth... If you survive.

Cut scenes are all live action...  Here are two stills of actual cut scenes from the game

If you're interested, you can see the intro cut scene here:
Panic Gate Opening Scene

Meet the contestants:

Greg Stevens

You are Greg Stevens.  A seemingly regular guy who's world is about to change…

Dave “Stumpy” Reynolds

Dave is your average sound mixer from Chicago.  Due to recent circumstances, he's become your new best friend.  But is there more to him than meets the eye?

Tom Powers

Tom seems like an innocent enough guy, but can you really trust him?

Cheryl Linn

Cheryl is just the good old American girl next door.  Could she have anything to hide?

Bram Stoddard

Hey, every reality show needs a jock.

Rachel Butterfield

She's the token gothic chick.  She's kind of quiet but maybe deep down she's hiding something important.

Pat Stone

He's the host of the show Panic Gate.  Not much else to say there.

Heidi Rehnquist

Heidi is just another stuck up rich chick that's using Panic Gate to get on television.  Her motives on the show seem pretty clear… Maybe.

Okay, it's unlocked. Redo your post like the rules say...
Put everything in the first post like it would be on your website. Like I mentioned to you, nobody likes to have to go to your website to read about your game. You can leave the link incase they choose to visit it. Don't make them.

For clarification ... are those "in-game" screenshots or are they (as you say) cutscenes?

Is there a GUI and a moving character(s) or is it more like Dragon's Lair type game?

Yes these are cut scene screen shots.

There are actual movable sprites in the game as well as a GUI point-and-click interface.  Think less Dragon's Lair and more Phantasmagoria.

All cut scenes in the game are live action scenes.  I should have screenshots of the in-game portion up soon.

Update: I have added two new screenshots to the post.  These are in-game shots.

zeblin

Okay, I added some new screenshots... I hope these gives a better idea of the look of the game than what I had up before.

Interesting premise; I don't think I've ever seen an FMV AGS game before. Is this going to be a talkie game?
I'm composing the music for this game:

Looks pretty interesting. I think it's a good premise. Good luck with the project, my friend.

Well not exactly... There will be speech  in the game during the cut scenes... All in-game play will use text.

Thank you for the words of encouragement.  They are much appreciated.

I really like the style you've used for this game, and the videos on your site look very promising.  I liked especially the bottom-left gate closeup screen, the colours feel very cold.

I just added two new screen shots.  This is more or less the final word on how the interface will look.  No more fill ins in the inventory box.

Also, to SimB.  Thanks for the compliment.  I took that same gate picture and used it for the title screen.. I agree that the color gives off the cold feeling I was looking for.

Afflict

Looks pretty interesting, shouldnt gregs nick be stumpy... he has really short legs.

LOL.. I guess that comes from adjusting the size from the image.  Not to mention his shirt hangs down a bit and covers half his legs.
