Here's my drawing of Dumbledore in the closeups. I drew this while looking at a picture of the actor. Tell me what you think.

Oh, and just incase you were wondering or are interested. The game is being made at 640x480.

Heheheh..

My, my, my. This is very amusing, you're a HP fan, and you also want to include whatever you feel like in this game, i commend you for that. It's good to remember that sometimes it's quite fine to make a game just for the fun of it and because it makes you have a good time doing it.

Your art is.. "original" and the concept makes me think it will be funny. Your determination is something that we dont see so often around here.

good luck, and have fun.

* Have you tried making Hagrid's threeheaded dog into some kind of three-headed cannon yet? ;) (I'm not kidding, this could be an option :P)
* How about giving Snape some sunglasses?
* If they can use magic, why not make an enchanted gun?

These are suggestions, but you can decide which to include, of course.
Yuna: Give me a Y!
Rikku: Give me an R!
Paine: Give me a break...

Spoiler
Fluffy the three headed dog is still in the game, or at least, he is now. Imagine Harry gets caught out of bed at night by Snape and he has to say something to distract him. One of the choices you can make him say is: Look, a three headed dog! (If you've played Monkey Island you'll understand the joke a little more.)

HARRY: Look, a three headed dog!!!
SNAPE: Oh please Potter, I'm not falling for that old trick!
(Fluffys heads appears from around the corner)
HARRY: Look a three headed dog!!!
SNAPE: You amuse me Pot...
(Fluffy bites Snapes head!)
HARRY: Told you.

I have three new screenshots, all from the demo.

I've worked long and hard on this picture by the way.

I've also made a new inventory bar too.

fentonfilms,

Those graphics are great.

You asked in your forum if you should be using voices?

Well, voices aren't completely waste of time. Ensure your server will handle extra upload.

Depending how big is your game with voices, some members here cannot handle those big files. You might want provide two download links, one without voices and one with.

That's a good idea. I don't know how big the game will be yet. But i've started to work it out.

The game begins in Diagon Alley by the way, you can choose to watch the intro movie or skip it if you want to. If my calculations are right, and if you play the whole Diagon Alley part through without any stops or easter eggs, you should spend the first 10-15 minutes of the game in Diagon Alley. The rest of the game is spent at Hogwarts. The game should be between the medium and long game category. I'll make the talkie game first and then I'll remove the speech file after I've uploaded the talkie and upload the non voice one. Just a thought.

The current voices are:
Harry: Me
Ron: Me
Hermione: Azure from this forum.
Draco Malfoy: Me?
Snape: Me?
Professor Quirrel: Me
Gunman of the Guns n' Bullets shop: Me for now.
Hagrid: Me
Dumbledore: Me
Neville: My cousin, (Darren from my movie "Darren and James".)
Extra characters: I don't know. Anybody wanna audition?

These are the only voices I have planned for the moment. The game's going great!

Here's some 360 degree spins of Harry and Ron, please comment on them!

A small update on progress:

- graphics 10%
- puzzles 20% (I've drawn out a puzzle tree for the Diagon Alley level)
- scripting 25%
- music/sound 15%
- overall 18%
The game is still set for a mid 2006 release.

Okay, it's been a long time since I last updated this thread, and I've got big news for you. I've been trying to get an art style that looks good in the game, and I think I've got it now. My old characters looked more like Game Boy color characters, I myself think that this style looks good and I have spent a long time on it. Here's some characters for you:

Harry:

Ron:

Hermione:

Draco:

Dumbledore:

These were drawn from one body template that I created, so that all characters are the right size and look similar. For the child characters, I have made the neck to feet 16 pixels shorter than the template is. For each new game, the characters will grow 4 pixels taller. The head remains the same in the whole series though.

The demo (which has been delayed slightly) will still feature my current art style though. Please comment on this new style.

Where are their scarves for the house colors :)

If you want suggestions for what to do with the characters, please post in the Critics Lounge.

Please guys and gals, keep the C&C out of this thread! (send a PM if you must comment)

Good to know you're still working on this.
