Sent in my audition, glad to see you're still working on this!

Sent you my samples. I forgot to say, I didn't chop them up but that'd be easy for me to in the future. For this sample it didn't seem to make as much sense.

Might have a go at Michael later... need to test out a vocal mic I got along with one of those USB guitar/mic jack interfaces so seems ideal to try it out. The character sounds intriguing, although as a Lancastrian the groundskeeper maybe a more likely fit ;)

audition for both :p

Although i think michael is an easier character.. its far easier to be posh than psychotic.  ;D

but michael IS a very interesting character to play :p he's far more deep that the garderner.

Just out of interest, did any other voice actors hear back yet? I mean, I know my samples probably weren't great but I explained myself in the mail I send and said that I didn't expect to get the 'job' but I *would* have liked a tiny little one- or two-liner of feedback and I did actually spend over an hour on recording those samples. Kinda disappointed that there hasn't been any answer whatsoever to be honest.

My plan was to get back to everyone once the deadline had passed.

I'm sorry if its standard practice to acknowledge auditions but after the 10th or so audition I stopped replying.

I will reply to everyone after the deadline has passed and I have made my decision.

I'm afraid there is currently no chance for 1-2 line characters since there just arent any. There are very few characters in my game.

It seems there's a lot of people who are interested in contributing, but don't want a huge role. One option that might be sort of fun would be to have a segment in your game where there's like dozens of whispers at once, speaking in tongues sort of thing. Then you could get small, short samples from a lot of different people and then loop and overlay them into one ambient track. Of course, I don't want to tell you how to make your game, I just thought that might be interesting if you had a spot it would fit.

Calin Leafshade

That is a very real possibilty. I'll consider that further

Jimbob

I'm currently moving from Glasgow down to Bristol... so I've not had chance to record anything... should do by the weekend though...

Ah, okay, I wasn't aware that there was a deadline. I didn't say 1-2 line character, though, I said I'd like 1 or 2 lines of feedback from you if possible. :)

I'm afraid I may need to capitulate to the ever advancing realisation that I don't have ALL the skills required to make this game.

So.. I would like to ask the AGS community to send me an animator/sprite artist.. may their mouse clicks strike true.

Yeah, essentially I need someone who could animate and draw certain sprites for me.

Simple things I can manage.. stuff like inventory items and basic objects are fine.

However, when it comes to more complex things (especially organic things like people) i struggle and the results are always sub par.
It would seem a shame to spend so long working on something that is supposed to be completely immersive only to have players snapped back to reality whilst laughing at a poorly done animation.

The only thing i can offer in return really are my services in sound production. I'm very good with music and sound effects. I can also voice act if a character fits my voice.

Workload would be fairly heavy i suppose since you would be doing the vast majority of the animations. Though I have seen how quickly people like Progz can mock up a sprite so maybe it wont take as long for someone experienced.

Incidentally the first episode is pretty much playable now from start to finish, albeit with certain placeholder sprite and some animations missing. So huzzah for that!

I loved the teaser!
It completely sold the game to me! :P.

Looking forward to the finished games!
And good luck finding some help!
I know I would of loved to work on this game if I had the skills ;).

Looks absolutely great.. can't wait to play it for real.. only hope is that episode 1 is a rounded episode, as I really hate eposodic gaming as you never know if they actually finish the complete 'series' (just like on TV where a lot of shows just get canceled without a closure)

To be honest i am wayyy too invested in this project now to abandon it.

I suppose its not really episodic in the traditional sense. Think of it more like the godfather trilogy. One story told over three films.
The first episode is quite short and is mainly used to set the scene, the mood and establish the characters.
After release of the first episode I am going to immediately start work on the second episode andI'm hoping it will only take me about 4-6 weeks to complete.
The third episode will probably be released early january.

I've actually booked 2 weeks off work to really push this project :p thats commitment my friend.

Is the first episode rounded? hmmm probably not.. it ends on a cliff hanger and there is very little "adventure gaming" going on.

The 2 main criticisms of the first episode are going to be "too short and not enough puzzles".

Holy shit, man, yeah. Is it still going to be freeware or have you changed your mind? I mean, booking two weeks off work is serious business - especially when it comes to a freeware adventure project.

In any case, I wish you the best of luck and I still can't wait to see these three "episodes" complete and ready for some good ol' playin'! Your story telling slaps the cat's ass :=

Ofcourse it's still freeware. All my games are going to be freeware.

I might allow donations but i hadnt really thought about that.. I just want to tell a story ya know.

I like your graphic style but I noticed a small graphical 'error'- in the dungeon screenshot "when you're strung up by a man...", the small window at the left is larger farther away from you then it is closer to you! That would make the window non-rectangular.

Amazing looking game!

Wow this kinda reminds me of the Ben Jordan games. Looks absolutely fantastic! I look forward to playing it.
KPop and AGS....................that is my life.

Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)
