== The Strange Day ==
Updated: 21th of July, 2003.
It is perhaps the most powerful moment of the night. That precarious border between night and dawn, when the sun is about to send its first greyness into the early morning skies. It is at this moment that the forces of the night are at their strongest, just before waning away into the shadows.
At such a time, the first kidnapping happened. A scream cut through the night, followed by a big splash of water and then... only silence. What befell this poor soul, up so early? What dangers lurk in the shadows of our world, forever struggling to return to it? Difficult questions to answer... are you sure you want to know the answer?

Yes, the Daonne Sidhe are trying to regain their powers of old. You, as Ben, soon find both your parents abducted and you the next victim! You can now get a taste of what the final game will offer in terms of graphics, gameplay and atmosphere.
I am actually looking for two people to help me out with two things...
1) Music
I suck at making MIDI files. I am secretly hoping one of the musical masterminds in these fora are willing to help me out. I'm looking for a rather ochestral soundtrack not at all unlike Gabriel Knight 1. MIDI, of course.
2) Sound Effects
If anyone could help me with the sound effects, that would be appreciated too. Right now, the game is severely lacking in the audio department.

That being said... enjoy this demo! And any comments regarding it, please let me know!

Looking good! I posted something on the forum too. ;D
Nice art! :o
I really can't wait until this comes out. When do you estimate it will be released?
Hard to say, really. I'm hoping this year, but I don't want to rush it. Right now I'm looking at about 10 rooms done, but with 50 or so more to go before it's completed.
And there's all the characters to come into it, and the puzzles... Aargh. :)
Anyone willing to help design a few puzzles? *grin*
Ohh.
*Jimi jumps up and down
Me!
Ok. You it is. :)
WooHoo! Yeah. Kiss my....I mean...rea\lly, thats very dignified of you.
I already have a few things that could be turned into puzzles, if you're willing?
Perhaps we should have a chat in a forum I just created on the game's page? If you register, I can make the forum "invisible" to others. :)
Yes. OK.
How long will it be before the "ghost" forum is set up?
Very cool!
Isn't it just! ;D
Thanks Vel :)
yeah it looks very good indeed.
Looking good :) Your graphics really capture that cartoony look. Good luck!
I just hope once I have all my characters done, it still looks good.
Man, it's hard to do good character-anims! :)
VERY hard!
PS- 2nd puzzle done on Strange Day forum.
Hello all,
The website has been updated. A a few locations are now up for viewing plus you can see how the main character looks.
And there's also more info regarding the game in general. :)
Update: 9th of June 2003.
See top post for updates.
great looking ...everything!!! :D
Update: 21st of July.
Demo now online!
Look at the first post for details. :)
I just got the demo and had a go, The graphics are great, I loved the intro too.
does the demo have a ending? just so I know if I get stuck or it's as far as it goes.
look forward to the full game
~Tim
Glad to hear you like it!
Yes, the demo does have an ending, so you'll be able to get some satisfaction from "finishing it". :)
I started playing it but found the puzzles to be a bit on the tricky side. If his bike is locked, why doesn't he just un-lock it?
Because he needs the key? :)
Try looking for it somewhere in the house...
I'm sorry for bumping this thread, but the reason is that I'm rather insecure about a lot of things. Does the game look nice? Is it playable? Is the main character (as he's drawn right now) something you can look at?
What I'd really like is for people to try this one, so with their feedback I can build a better game. Nostrum commented on the puzzles being tricky. Maybe they are, maybe they're not. Since I've been very involved in thinking them up, to me they are logical. But to the outside mind, perhaps they're not...
...please try this and tell me what you think.
