LimpingFish Presents...
Unbound: A "Wound" Vignette.
The second in a series of three short introductory games based on the backstory of
an, as yet, unmade full-length game entitled: Wound.
2. Unbound.
The aftermath of Project Caterpillar has left four people dead, and Dr Nicholas
Powell missing. Howard Fielding, surviving member of Powell's research team, has
been sequestered to an abandoned government facility, while agents investigate the
circumstances surrounding the deaths of his colleagues and try to determine the
current whereabouts of Dr Powell.
But whatever answers Howard Fielding might have he's keeping to himself...and
whatever has been awakened in his subconcious mind is about to make itself known.

Update 17/12/2007
Well...that didn't happen, did it? Nevermind, as Unbound is poised for a smash 'n grab release in the next day or two! The screenshots above are a little out of date, and new ones will be available in the upcoming Completed Game Announcements thread.
Whee!
Update 24/10/2007
This will be my last update for Unbound. Everthing is on course for a mid to late November release. There will be a short, in-house beta period beforehand to (hopefully) iron out any bugs and such.
Unbound has been developed alongside the third Wound Vignette, the title of which shall be unveiled a day after Unbound is released.
Because a lot of the groundwork for the third game is already completed, a release should hopefully take place sometime during Q2 '08. :)
Update 08/08/2007:
Just a new screen. I've neglected this project over the last month or so, but things are back on track.
Update 04/06/2007:
Some more screenshots from the first half of the game. Things are still moving, and a major update will soon be posted. A title change may be on the cards, but we'll see how that goes... :P
Update 06/05/2007:
Just updated the screenshots to how they will actually look in-game. Progess is a little slow at the moment, but things are moving.
Report: 14/3/2007:
Some people have been asking me when I was going to continue the story of Heartland and, although still early in development, I'm happy to announce the second installment: Unbound.
Although not a direct "sequel" as such, Unbound will go deeper into the story of Project Caterpillar, answering some of the questions raised by the audio tapes in R J Coombs apartment (see Heartland Deluxe (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=813)), and introduce some more characters from the Wound universe.
Release date: November 2007.
Wheeeeeee!
Looking forward to this. Glad to see you're keeping the Heartland style, though I must ask, are you planning on keeping it for the entire as-yet-unmade series?
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssss
And to make my post a little more productive:
Great news, fish! (;D) Indeed previous game was great and I'm really glad to see it continuing.
I have a complaint though to Darth: Fish obviously cheated and used the same room twice in his 2 screennies! KILL HIM! KILL HIM NOW!
(I love the Dr. Nicholas. Change a letter and that will be me in a couple of years ;D)
All I can say is:
:D
Yippee! Yahoo! Hooray! Wahoo! Deray! Zubak! Melorga! Zingdooblamapf! :) :) :)
My joy has no bounds.
This looks good, I hope it is as good as your last game!
Although the screenshots doesn't give me much of an urge to download...
So is that "Not wound, like a watch, but wound... like a tear"?
Looking good!

Looking good!
And was that "Not tear, like a drop of water from an eye, but tear... like a rip?"
Thanks, everybody, for the encouraging words.
Rui: The style of these three games will, more or less, be the same. Unbound will have a number of improvements over Heartland, though, most notably a greater number of enviroments. During development I'm simply re-using the GUI from Heartland, though this may change in the final product.
The current style will most likely be contained among these introductory games only, as Wound itself only exists as a story and the final form it will assume is anybody's guess. Heck, it could even be an FPS!*
Steve: Wound as in rip or tear (and tear as in...oh, Vince has that covered). You're not the first person to ask about pronunciation, though, which is worrying.
It's just that the story has had that name since I wrote it, and basically...well, I hate change. :=
Thanks again, everybody.
*It won't be, though. :P
This is good news indeed. Heartland was the dog's knees.

I was pretty sure it was "rip or tear" - I was just using it as an excuse to reference Elektra: Assassin.
This looks really awesome. I really enjoyed Heartland. Good luck on gettin' it done, also, I'm glad to see Steve's panoramic module being used in it again....
Are there any characters?
There are a couple of non-player characters to interact with, but there aren't really any onscreen characters. So...no. :)
The screen shots look great, I'm glad to see part 2 in the works. This is one of my most anticipated games of the year!
This looks good so far! Keep up the work.
ace cant wait
Small update in first post.
Does this game have any link with heartland?
Yes it does.
It's not a sequel though, in so much as it deals with events that took place before Heartland Deluxe, but it is definitely connected.
Small bump. Details in first post.
I have few question to autor:
1) Intro in Heartland is very stylish (maybe it's strange but Heartland intro remind me Max Payne story, so what soft and technic use autor?
2) Unbound: will commercial or free?
The intro to Heartland contains a mixture of hand-drawn (on paper ;)) images and photoshop work.
Unbound, like Heartland (and the unamed third and last Wound Vignette), will be completely free.
1)Have you started work on the full-length game yet?
2)How much will the full game cost?
The full-length game "Wound" is little more than a series of plans and outlines at the moment, so I couldn't possibly hazard a guess at when it would be finished.
I do intend to make it commercial, although it may not be the first commercial game I end up releasing.
We'll have to wait and see. ;)
Le bump! New screen in first post.
Trumpity, bumpity, bump! Details below screenshots in first post.
How excellent!
Looking forward... looking forward... mid Nov. is not that far really. :)
Come on Limping Fish, get on with this game already we're dying here.
The black and white images sell this. It's like a good episode of the x-files!
Err, your sig is wrong, Fishy as its now December and no Heartland...
What?!?
Stupid second-hand calender! >:(
In other words:
Yes, UNBOUND is running late...again. Hopefully my 20-minute long EPIC will appear sometime in the next week or so.
Apologies for the delay. :)
EDIT: Sig sneakily updated...¬¬
Hey-ho! It's in the final lap! Go LimpingFish! :D
We are in BETA! Hooray. Expect a release in the next day or two.
Put aside 20 minutes of your life in preparation, people! :D
...
Oh, and there are no refunds.
