Presented for your amusement, the teaser 'trailer' of the coming game Wheerd in Reality!

When a burnt-out Hollywood actress moves to an old house just outside of Reality-on-the-Norm, she finds herself the Star of a plot that would make Ed Wood a very confused man. Odd diarys, notes from the milkman, and strangely dust-free surfaces! What more could you want?

Nothing really playable, but something to look at :)

Plot is 100% done
Puzzles are 100% planned
Graphics 75% done
programming about 5% done

Extra ToDos:
Possible changes to the GUI and Fonts, fix some issues with the sprite, figure out exactly how to implement certain gameplay features...

Much love to the RON folks for letting me into their playground.

Sounds great, and a unique look too!

But what is Wheerd and how are you meant to pronounce it??!

Eleri

Just like it's spelled!'Weird"
As to the what, you'll just have to wait and see!

m0ds

Oh, as in wheeeeeeee! I getya now hehe, good luck!

I like the graphics.  Very artsy, very unusual style.  Story sounds intriguing too.  Looking forward to this one.

BTW, are you the same Eleri I know from...elsewhere?  Or is that just a very very crazy coincidence?

Yup. And DC has a strange resemblance to a certain Julian...  ;D

We are Uru, and we are legion. :)

I really like her hair, really just makes me want to grab it and pull until she bleeds.

In the "we have safewords, no need to call the cops" sense, or the "dear god no one should have hair that perfect!" sense?

I'm sure the RON folks are always happy for a RON game but this one I think has a problem with art. I made once the same backgrounds, so don;t you point that in me. Please try and copy the RON graphic style, it's not at all hard to reach RON's art level. And the art of RON games is quite good.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Eleri

The RON response has been generally positive, given that this is more spin-off RON than smack-dab-in-the-middle of RON.

If Our Heroine ever appears in RON proper, I'm sure she'll blend in ;)

I personally quite like the graphic style used - the photorealism of the objects adds another layer of uneasiness to the whole ensemble. Just because it's a different style doesn't mean its a failing. The Phantom Inheritance was a completly different kettle of fish compared to the conventional graphics at the time, and that still stands out as one of the better games of the series.

I don't see what's wrong with the art, I wanted to do a similar style for this game idea I had...but learnt that I should turn 18 before attempting for...certain reasons.

keep up the good work.

btw I've never played a RON game, so I don't know what they're original style was like.
