Title: (Working) Screenshots from Daemons In The Attics!
Post by: on Mon 14/07/2003 17:59:24
Okay, here are a few screenshots from the first rooms of DITA. Beverly, my main character, is still human in that first chapter, but i included screenshots of her "werecat shape" as well. The background graphics are not all that good, i'm still working on them. Anyway, let's go:

Look further down for the screenshots, please- i messed that up but got help!

And special thanks for providing hosting space at 2dadventure!

I'm assuming you meant to put 03 first :)
(The only reason they weren't working is because you used .jpg instead of .JPG)

And this is Beverly vs. her werecat shape.

I like your character.  Very nice.  And I like where the backgrounds are headed.  The GUI looks nice too.  Keep it up and let us know when/if we can get a playable demo!

Seems like there is a picture of a relative in those screenshots, the frog looks very much like my uncle:-))))

Keep it up mate,
oh and by the way:
I definitely devote myself to testing the game if I may:-))))

Wow! I can't wait for the demo.

BTW, Beverly's werecat shape needs a tail if you ask me. ;)

Wow! Incredible! I love the graphics - This is a game on my waiting list for sure.

Nice thing that you can have 666 points, too... Ahem... ;D

Lucky: My girlfriend agrees with you, so I think Bev WILL be given a tail. I am not quite sure if I should make it a cat tail or maybe a forked devil's tail. Let's see what looks better ;)

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome to the forum and the positive feedback- you really encouraged me to work hard for a demo. I think maybe a week, and you'll be able to see Beverly, the frog and a very annoying bed of melons. ;D

a lions tail.  long and slender, and then a teardrop type shaped hair fluff at the end pointing outward.

got it- have a look at this. it's even animated in the game, and that was no piece of cake...

so when the character is idle, it'll be doing its own thing?

that'd be great.

Haha, looks like Nightcrawler!

I like it, though. Is the animation also a bit like our blue-skinned priest? :)

scummbuddy- yes, the tail is animated when Bev walks and when she's idle. it surely was worth the effort to put the tail animation, i'm very happy with the result.

btw, nightcrawler is only a "priest-type" in the movie; in the comic books he's merely an acrobat. But yes, it looks a bit like him, no? maybe Bev will replace one of the teenage mutants in X Men 3 he he he  :D
Title: Screenshots from Daemons In The Attics! + Question
Post by: on Sun 03/08/2003 11:18:06
Okay: The demo is ready- the intro and the first chapter of the game are playable, have animations, sound effects & background music and offer four rooms, three basic introductory puzzles and (shiver) Beverly's transformation from human fresher to teenage werecat.

Now the unavoidable newbie question: How do I upload a demo? Does AGS provide space for that too, as there is for screenshots? Help would really be appreciated.

summary for slamgrinder (all all of you who're interested ;) ) in d.i.t.a. you play a fresher who is challenged to a traditional, stupid student bet: beverly has to enter a spooky old manor to win the "maddock manor bet". not particualiary afraid of stuff like ghosts and all, she accepts- the reward is quite worthwhile after all.
when she manages to enter the mansoin, however, she meets a couple of ghosts there, and one of them curses her into were-cat form. now bev has two objectives. she has to win that supid bet, and she has to get back her body... and there's a pretty megalomaniac deamon in the attics...

thanks for the link vel; as soon as i return home i'll pack my stuff and upload the demo- right here in this topic.
