Title: Would You Be My Lover ? 20.09.2006. Demo's finished.

Ã,  Ã,  Tired of solving murders,mystery or paranormal things? If the answer is yes, this Adventure game is for you.

Ã,  Ã,  This game is combination of The Sims, Singles and Big Brother. The main purpose is to have a lover. However, as a contestor, you must stay at home and not to be eliminated to finish the game. Every weekend ( 1 game week = 20 min), 1 contestor will be winner and he/she will send someone from home. If you do nothing, probably you will be eliminated because other contestors always will be in action and they will do their best to send you from home.

Ã,  Ã,  Well, "Where is the adventure ?" i hear you ask. You have inventory and puzzles to solve (optional). if you want to be winner, you must solve all puzzles.

Ã,  Ã,  There are 10 characters and 2 of them playeble(1 boy, 1 girl). Dialogs and scenarios of playable characters are naturally different so you will be satisfied with the game length.

Ã,  Ã,  Depending on circumstances, the game may be commercial. So firstly i will release a demo version on the middle of March. if it won't be a commercial, full version will be released on June.

Thanks for messages. i couldn't success to upload pics to imageshack. Then i tried this server and now it doesn't show pics. There must be another image hosting servers. Does anyone know any ?

   By the way, this game will contain adult materials and dirty language. it's not suitable for ages under 18.

  i am thinking to prevent people younger than 18 to play it. Like some questions at the beginning of the game that only people can answer older than 17  :) Such as Thundercats and He-man  :P

No... don't do things like that. They'll only irritate both under and over 18 years old people... Questions are the most stupidest protection thing ever. Just put a warning on the download site.

Oh, and I knew everything about He-Man when I was 7 years old :=

i don't think some short questions can irritate people older than 17. The only way to prevent them to play is these stupidiest questions i think. However, i just gave an example of questions.They are not that easyÃ,  :)Ã,  Questions will be difficult to answer for youngers but easy for olders.

i must confess, i also hate TV shoes like Big Brother. However, game version of these shows could be very funny. There will be lots of jokes and comedy. Most of your time while you're playing will be laughing and smiling

No no no! No questions! (Game looks cool by the way)

I recently played Leisure suit Larry for the first time and it asked me questions depending on my age. Not only were they American related things, but they were now older than first intended!

(Would someone playing your game in say germany, know what the thundercats are?)

looks really interesting. i would really like to play it, but if ure gonna make it commercial, i think u'll have to do some nice cool high quality portraits of the chars. for when you talk to them. which will show maybe some emotion. especially since this game will have a lot to do with characters moods.

 i think you are right. There are no such questions only everyone older than 18 can answer. i will just put an attention sentence as first room.

if the game would be commercial, its price will be very low compared to other games. i think 5 $ is very suitable price for this game. What do you think?

 i wanna try my luck about selling anyway. Glad you like pics. As a program , i am using Photoshop 7. in fact, these graphs were drawn on 1600*1200 resolution. Unfortunately, you already know that AGS supports max. 800*600 res. Wish AGS supports better resolutions and  undeformed anti-alliased sprites while importing. They would look much nicer. i hope Chris will fix them in newer versions of AGS.

I had a quick go at it.

Looking good, I like the quality of the graphics. I walked around a bit, it appeared you can walk between the back 2 beds but not between the front ones and when I had both doors open I sort of got stuck until I walked away a fair bit - then the doors closed and everything was back to normal.

I saved the game and on that panel there was no cursor - probably expected?

I can't say anything about the sound - if there was any, because  I have no speakers.

I never tried a demo before, so I didn't know what to expect and what to look for...

   You can only open doors by clicking on it. Test demo doesn't have sound, it doesnt matter if you have speakers or not. But Real demo will have sounds and no text. So you will have to have speakers to play demo properly.

   i made a different cursor for GUI's. Probably engine didn't accept SaveGameDialog as GUI. i think that's the problem. Real demo will have its own Save Game GUI. The problem will be fixed.

    Thanks for reporting me technical problems. if you find any more, don't bother to say.  i am glad you like graphics

 :) Thanks Cosmo :) That's right. it looks like The Sims but my characters speak real words. Unlikely, you can't buy furniture to your home :)

Just something small i noticed in the screenshots. Presumeably the door in the 2nd and 3rd screenshot are the same as you can see the bench through the door in the 'kitchen' shot, the door is hinged on opposite sides in the screenshots.

i just finished Turkish version and now i'm making English translation. i want to ask you something. i will make dialogs of English version "voice only". But if you suggest to add text, i will make "voice and text". i don't know how many international players are here. May be UK players also get hard to understand voice because of pronounciation. So , do you want me to add text to dialogs ?

Yurina, you misunderstood me. Voices will already be English. i just wondered, if anyone here can get hard to understand English voices. Then, i am adding English text to English voices. Thanks for attention

I'd play your demo, but you uploaded it to Rapidshare. I reached my limit of downloads from them for a free account, so no go for me.

I'd reccomend you get a second place to upload it to, check out the AGS forum upload guide if you haven't already!

I just don't really understand what is going on in the game. Also when you choose an inventory item, I can't seem to get it swithched back to the hand icon or another item. Maybe it is a bug. I also couldn't enter my password in to the computer I was playing as yener....

Thanks thewalrus. What is going on the game? Think it's Big Brother and you're competing in the house. I just can explain like that :) If you wanna switch back to hand icon, just bring up the inventory window and close it. The password is yener01.

It's a good concept, and a game I greatly look forward to playing more of.  Just some comments:

1-Since this is a real-time game, you need to have an in-game clock and a way to "skip forward" to the next event when applicable.  This will greatly enhance the replay value, which clearly matters when there are 20 different endings!

2-There needs to be more background about the show, the meaning of the computer, how the voting works, etc.

3-This game was clearly not created by a native English speaker, and there are some jarring spots.  Here are a few, so the programmer can improve:

"contestants", not "contestors"
"get a vibe", not "get an electric"
"refrigerator", not "refrigirator"
"sink", not "lavatory"
"wardrobe", not "warddrop"
I don't know what an "billfold manager" does, so I can't give a correct translation -- send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for your comments Michael. You're absolutely right with your 3 comments. English is my second language and this game was first made in Turkish. So i translated whole words in English later. Also, i think international players couldn't understand some of jokes because the game is based on Turkish version of Big Brother. i will consider your first and second comments.3rd comment, i will need someone English for perfect grammar

i thought players could understand 'dance' section. Player must use key combinations showed on screen to make some dance figures. For example; left,left,A is a combination for a figure.

i hope i finish full version soon and ask for your help for perfect grammar.
