I cannot get this game to load, I played (& enjoyed) this game for awhile yesterday, had to leave, came back... & nothing, nada, zero.. how can I get this to load? it says I need to have 2.0 ?? something ...well it's a fairly new laptop why do I need to do this ?

Perhaps the .Net framework 2.0? If you could play the game yesterday it might got corrupted or something.. try reinstalling/repairing it.

I appreciate your quick response the i receive states " saved on my desktop file" but it is not there, if I re-install .net framework 2.0 will this duplicate my efforts?

You do not need the .NET Framework installed to play AGS games.
What is the exact error message that you get when you try to run the game?

D'oh! That was a lil error in reasoning.
Not to mention 6DA was made long long time ago, that even the editor didn't need .NET to work (well, the author could just time travel and use a new version to create his games but somehow he didn't).
As the game was old, it may be hard to track problems now, but provide the error messages as CJ mentioned, that may still be of some help.
Thanx all, got it to load, don't know how ?? HOWEVER !! I keep getting stuck at the window, when I put my gun to the window ( WT states) I can't go back to get the camera & do the rest of the trick to shoot the sniper .... I need to abort & start over, 3 x's now...
p.s. if it's too old a game to play, as stated previously, shouldn't it be removed from available games ???? hmmm?

I think your in-game problem isn't of technical nature, so you should probably start a thread in the hints'n' tips section of the forum.

If it runs, it isn't too old. I could play through it just fine (XP).
Pressing X to leave the aiming screen worked fine for me.

Capital nope, am done with that game... tried shift & cross hairs on the exit @ several places until all my bullets were spent, I cannot get out of the blasted window to retrieve the camera

Wait a sec, just to be sure, you've tried pressing the x key on the keyboard, right?
I'm not wanting to ruin this for everyone & don't know how to do a spoiler, but got the shade down w/board, gun, bullets, hair pin, hammer, went to window w/gun ( I suppose to use the scope) looked for awhile for the sniper to poke his ugly little head through a window, that never happened, tried to use the exit & nope.. shift exit nope, had the x in the cross hairs, nope ... dude, it won't work for me :-\

I've never played the game, but If you read Khris' message, you're supposed to press x on the keyboard, not click.
I think I'm going to play this game now just to see what your issue is with this scene.
edit: Boolie, I just played the game and had zero problems leaving the window while in sniping mode. Just press the X on your keyboard and that's all. Do not click the X that you see on the screen, that will only fire a bullet and not actually exit.
I take it you don't understand english very well, since you haven't actually answered anyone yet that you're actually pressing the X on your keyboard. Let us know.
