Title: A quick question about my character movement.
Post by: ocknuzzi on Sat 05/01/2008 19:55:12
First off, i would like to state that I am not entirely sure if this is where this should be posted. If anyone feels i should post this somewhere else, please inform me.

Ok, so heres my dilema. I am using a resource pack for my characters and such. Now when i make my guy move left, the animation is fine, but then when he gets to where he is going, the animation stops, and doesn't return to the looking at you position he started at.

It's really hard to explain, so please inform me if i need to explain it in a much more understandable fashion. And thank you to all who help me.

Are you using an animation or a walkcycle with a standing frame at the start?

I think it's an animation.  Im using the insta-game pack of the website if that helps at all

Try adding an idle animation view (standing frame alone should surfice) to it.

Yeah just assign the standing frames to a view and then use the character editor to set that view for the idle animation.

This is a longshot, but if anti-glide mode is on, try turning it off.

Ok i turned anti glide off, and even set a new view to a standing animation, and STILL it doesn't work.

:(

I think basically all you want is to set up a normal view. The Character's normal, or walking view should be set up like this:
Standing Frame[, Step 1, Step 2, etc.]
The very first frame should be the standing frame for each loop. How exactly do you have the normal view set up?

If Monkey's advice still doesn't help, try compressing (http://www.7-zip.org/)  the project folder and uploading it to a filehost (http://www.willhostforfood.com/) (I normally wouldn't ask this but the insta-game resources so it won't really ruin anything, right?).
