Hi there. I am getting ready to create a game and for character sprites, I plan on using some off the snes sprite websites out there. The problem is on all of these sites for the most part, the sites only give you 3 of the 4 angles of the character sprites I need. For example...Go to this page

http://www.videogamesprites.net/ChronoTrigger/NPCs/Townsfolk/Men.html

Scroll down a little until you see the young men category. The sprite with the blondish hair to the far right is the sprite I want to use, but It only shows the up, left and down walking positions, nothing to the right. Now i know this seems like a somewhat easy fix, just copy and paste the left walking sprite into my art program and flip him around. I would...except when I try to copy and paste the animated walking image into MS Paint (my only art program) It will not show up as if hes walking. I guess you can only import still images into paint. But can anyone help me as to how I can get this sprite fully operational into AGS, It would really help me out.

You can flip frames inside AGS. Just import the left walking animation in the AGS' sprite manager. here, select the sprites, right click, "assign to view" and check "set all new frames as flipped".

ok, now if i just want that one animated view for the whole walking animation I can use that right?I can just have the 4 still shots in each direction than the one animated frame for the 4 walking positions?
---
Edit* oh and another question. How can I even get the walking frame animation into AGS if I can't get it into MS Paint? Or can I save it in paint and it just doesnt show the animation in the program, but if I upload it it will show the animation in AGS?

alright sorry about that, just started coming back to the forums yesterday. I ave another question. I downloaded a complete SPC file collection off an snes game that I want to use for my game. Each song is very small, about the size of a midi file however the files are not midis. The files are  SP1  SP2   SP3   SP4   SP5   SP6 ....not very familiar but can I incorporate these songs into AGS?

repeat after me: "I will not double post. I will use the modify button."

MSPaint can't show animations. just the first frame of the animation.

I do believe you can import a gif animation into ags, now. if you want to save time, you could do that.

remember, the first frame of a view is the standing still frame, and the others to the right of it, are the walking/moving frames. when the char stops, it will revert to the first one.

- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

About the second question:
Go to the page you indicated above, right click on the image/animation you want to take and save it on your HD. They are all GIFs, right? Go to AGS' Sprite Manager, right click and select "Quick Import GIF/FLC frames"... why should you use MS Paint?

About the first question, please explain yourself better (english is not my motherlanguage O_o)...

Scumbuddy I was wondering why its wrong for me to repost? If i just modify than all one will see when looking through the forums is the last person to respond to my post, thinking the topic is done and I have no more questions. I have several more questions anyway. Please explain to me how i should go about posting in these forums and also if you could respond to my third question about the music files in my game I would appreciate that as well.

Thank you.

generally, if you need to post again within 5 minutes of your last one, you should modify your last post.

I do believe that if you edit a post, if will show up again as new, even to the person who has already just seen the thread. I believe that works in this forum; I know it works in others.

for music, I have no idea what format that is. I suggest googling the extension, and seeing what player comes up.
If it were my problem, I would just play the music on my computer, with whatever plays the song, and use my wav  recorder recording on my computer, so that I may later convert that saved file into something AGS recognizes.

I'm having another issue with the animated character sprite. If you scroll up to the first posting I made earlier I provided the link for my character I want to use. once again he is under the YOUNG MEN category and is the sprite all the way to the right with the blonde hair. Now if I want to save and upload him as a .gif file into AGS I know I can do this, however the problem is when I try to right click and save him I can only save him as a.bmp file and not as a .gif file...Any ideas as to how I can transport him into AGS?

Oh, a pretty little (famous) bug in IE...
Try empting IE cache, then reloading the page.
Or, install Firefox.
Or, copy the gif's address and then download it using some download manager (or even IE).

...or install Maxthon, it uses much less memory than Firefox but is equal in all it's features...
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

ilsilente...how do I empty cache from IE? I don't quite understand how to do that?

tool --> internet settings --> delete files (from temporary internet files section)

Since I'm not using an English windows, I just type the above by guessing, the actual wording may differ slightly.
