hi, i have made platforms games before without engine assistance so i know what's involved, etc.

but i was wondering how suited ags would be for a platform game? my initial thought went to scrolling as platforms generally require some sort of big tiled map. Can ags handling tiling? If not, how big backgrounds can be handled by ags without crashing? Is it feasible then to save a big background image and load it in?

i saw bear story which was nice. He didn't use very big backgrounds though, only scrolled a bit. I talking huge levels :)

thanks.

i like to take this journey with ags and see how it manages a platformer :)

It's not ideally suited, but it's possible.

In fact, using the Forum Search would've revealed (at least) two different versions of an AGS platform engine. Not sure how well they'd work with 2.7+, but there they are.

As for room size limits, AFAIK the max height is 1400 pixels (in 320x2X0, or 2800 at higher res), and no limit on width.
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.
