Problems importing background images

I just downloaded AGS and, after playing through a couple of games that were on  the site, I was very excited to get started on working through the tutorials and learning the intricacies of AGS. However... I don't know if there's a problem with what I've downloaded (unlikely) or if I'm just acting dumb (very likely) but I don't understand how to import background images without an 'import background image' button in my Room Editor - Settings  screen. I also don't seem to have a Load Room option, the only things available are Save, Interactions, Edit Script or Edit Messages.. no Load or Import Background Image? Well... that was probably incomprehensive and confusing but if you can decipher it and give me an answer that would be great. If you need clarity on what my question is then just post here aswell... thanks alot

You probably use AGS 2.7 or newer and the manual is outdated. Go to the menu at the top of the AGS editor and you'll find a "Import New Background..." option there!
