It happened just like that, out of the blue. I hit F5 and now I get this everytime:

Any idea on how to fix this?
I reinstalled, restarted my PC etc... but nothing changes the problem.

I guess you are getting "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software." This is your anti-virus blocking access to the AGS engine, the only solution I readily know would be to disable your anti-virus in your game project directory or in the directory where you installed the AGS Editor.

First would be interesting to know which antivirus you are using - I recommend to just use Windows Defender, but anyone is free to do as they want with their computer. The other thing is it would be interesting the scan both the directory where AGS Editor is installed and your project folder to check that nothing is wrong there.

I think I possible know a way to reduce the chance that AGS Editor would trigger the AV software on this particular operation and made a PR for it in the AGS repository - I have no way to test it since it doesn't happen in my computer.

There should be a "love" button. You just saved my day!  (nod)

It was indeed Windows that detected a thing: Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml (where did that come from?)
It has now been removed and all is fine.
It is weird, tho, since it happened just out of nowhere.

Thank you so much for your help!

Cheers!
