Title: AGS: Can you make a MacVenture type game on AGS?
Post by: JoeCooleyIII on Sun 24/02/2013 02:36:46
Hi guys!

:) 8-)

I just had this question and it's been going around in my mind for a while. It is possible to make a MacVenture-like game using AGS, say a lot like Deja Vu I and II, Shadowgate and Uninvited?

In short: Yes.
I believe Ags was made with the LucasArts and Sierra classics in mind. The MacVenture games are basically the same thing but with no visible player character. There is no built in map function though, but I think you could improvise one fairly easily.

I was making a Shadowgate clone for one person a while ago. But he later dissapeared and I haven't heard from him for about a year.

Here's how it looked like:

I was thinking that maybe, if he is not interested anymore for such  a long time, I could just open those sources...
It has a Map feature, and dynamically typed text box.
