Does anyone know why AGS crashes when I try to test my game in full screen mode but is fine in windowed mode. I can run games other people have made full screen no problem but for some reason whenever I test my game AGS freezes up
Same thing happens to me. If you really must test your game in fullscreen mode, run the executable from the "Compiled" folder.
Yes, this is an intermittent bug that seems to happen at random. The best advice is to do what Goldsmith suggests and run the EXE file itself.
Alternatively, just test is once, CTRL + ALT + DEL the window, then test again. With everyone I know that has this problem (including me) it only does it the first time you test the game during your er... computing session. After that, it's fine.
By the by, what's your graphics card? GeForce?
I get the same bug. I have a GeForce card too. I usually just test windowed anyway, it's nicer to be able to switch to something else without changing resolution.
I have placed a shortcut to my game EXE on my desktop for quick access. It's a simple but useful method to bypass the problem.
Interestingly enough, I don't encounter this error. What resolution are you all using? Perhaps it has something to do with that?

640x480
I'm using 1024x768 (320x200 for the game). I think it has something to do with the Geforce, though. Rednick and Janik: are your games in 16bit or 256 color?
Bah, I have this issue. It happens every time I start the game the first time in the session. But I usually go, meh. It looks like the outside of the window with what I am doing frozen in the middle.
I have the same problem with this and I also have a GeForce graphics card, and am running xp... for some reason everything worked fine for a couple of days after installing AGS and then it randomly started happening...
BTW: would it be a good idea to move this post to one of the common problems threads as I've just spent ages trying to find a solution to it. (I am new hear however, but I did check all the manuals/tutorials etc, so it's very possible I completely missed the solution, in which case I apologise humbly for time wasting)
