Title: AGS for linux

I have been trying to download ags for my linux system , I already have it on my Windows box

just the link on this website is dead

Is there any other way i can download it , as i really want to write a good game for us ubuntu os users.

There seems to be no way of doing it throught ubuntu software centre . I f there was it would be fantastic

what i have read is that they just have this kind of plug-in wherein you can play your game created from windows or mac to a linux system...but i am not so sure if they have an installer for linux... I think they are currently developing engine for linux.

Also, yes, building a game and running it are two different things.

Why not make the game first, see how far you get, then care about running it on linux?

I want to build the game on my linux os box.

All i want to know is is there a an ags version for the likes of ubuntu etc???????

Or shall i download the window package and use wine to run it ?

Afaik, only the engine was ported to linux. So to create a game / use AGSEdit, you have to resort to wine, yes.
