Hi. I am totally new to the world of AGS, and I'm having a problem taking the first step...which is installing AGS. Apparently my .NET framework was below the 2.0 version, so before I attempted to download AGS I updated it to 4.0. However, I'm still receiving the same message alerting me that my .NET framework needs to be upgraded. I've made sure to restart my computer and even went through the "repair" process for .NET 4.0, but it's still not working for me. Any suggestions?

I assume you have the latest AGS version (321)

What was the exact error message? did it say a code number? are you running win7?

It may have been a bad download, try again.

The .NET framework versions are completely separate, so you have to explicitly install the 2.0 .NET framework. The 3.x and 4.x frameworks don't include it.

The message it gives me does not include a code, it simply says something to the effect of "AGS requires Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 or higher to run. Please click to visit Microsoft's website and download the .Net framework." Then it directs me to a broken link. Also, I can only find .NET 4.5, 4.0, 3.5 for download. Any ideas? I'd really appreciate your help.

p.s.-I'm using xp

Ok I've solved it. I uninstalled .net 4.0 and installed 3.5. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that versions 4.0 and higher are not compatible with XP. Thanks for your help!
