Title: Best way to play footstep sounds ?

What is the best way to do it so it sounds right ?
Going to use this sound file .

1a) cut it up into each individual step sound, and add each one to an appropriate long view

1b) or just use two sounds, one for each foot. (which would be easiest)

2) have a cutscene where you play the footstep sound in the bg, and try and link it with the actual animation going on. (may not work the best)

do you have a program that you can cut up sound files?
and once youve localized in on one foot step sound (you'd do the second next) save it as a sound, and then under the views area, you select when the animatino shows the foot touching down, and select "SOUND" underneath that frame

Ok I understand now .. god that was easy .. lol
Thanks for the help ..  I have something to cut the sounds up .
