Game doesn't work from the DVD

When I run the game from a DVD it doesn't start and an error window appears ¿Does anyone know the reason? I tried to find an answer in the manual, but I didn't find anything...

As far as I know, the game can't be run from a CD or DVD. You have to have all files on the actual computer you want to play it on. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe if you post the error message, we can help you. But generally, you need to install the game to the hard drive in order to run it.

It is highly probable that the game needs to create a file but due to the DVD's nature of being read-only, it cannot. Try copying the file on your hard disk. Or if you get a reso error try changing the resolution by running winsetup.

A long while ago I  once got this to work.  If I remember correctly I think I made a little script that changed the working directory to c:\ and then launched the game from the CD drive.   I think there is a way for the script to find out which drive (i.e. the CD drive) it is executing from.   Anyway that's about all I can remember.
