Title: Can I create GUIs that are 640 x 480?
Post by: Reodor on Mon 07/05/2007 20:33:46
I have decided to create a game in 640 x 480, but there is one problem: The GUIs are always upscaled from 320 x 240. Is it possible to make GUIs that are 640 x 480, or at least in 320 x 240 without upscaling in a 640 x 480 game?

Please excuse my english, I'm from Scandinavia, and my grades in english sucks. :)

In 640x480 display resolution, the internal game resolution is ALWAYS 320x240, so you can only place stuff at "even" numbered coordinates on screen, this applies to most stuff including GUI.
On the other hand, you can use hires sprites and fonts as backgrounds, buttons and labels on the GUIs.

So the answer is yes or no, depending on what you really need.
