I'm using the lucasart.gui file that comes with AGS. I've heard of better LucasArts GUIs by searching this forum but none of the links seem to work, so I'd appreciate any updated links to any better ones out there.

Anyway, can someone tell me how to get the 'Give' option working properly? I'd like the player to click 'Give', then on an inventory object, and then put a 'to' on the message line so that a character can be selected.

At the moment when the user clicks an object to give the unhandled_event runs with what==3, type==6 giving my custom message "I don't think they'd like that!" before someone has been selected to give the object to.

Nah, don't bother with that, and come join the dark side with Proskrito's A-Mazing LucasArts Styled GUIS.  ;D

- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I really, really want to get at those templates but it keeps saying they need a newer version of AGS and I just downloaded 2.55 a minute ago. Did I download from a bad mirror? Anyone else have this problem?

Unfortunately those were compiled on a beta version of AGS.

You can use the beta but you MUST remember to back everything up.

Check out the sticky in the tech forum, bottom of the first post. Once the next version of AGS is released that problem will be resolved.

good luck,
