I'm working on a 3d fightinggame like mortal ,tekken, street fighter etc.. i want to know can i make one like that with ags? unkow as far as finishing moves audio, graphics? can any one tell me please :o
which program is better to build a mortal kombat type 3d game inags or game maker 6.1? :=
Well, that would depend on what exactly you're wanting.Ã, If you want basic 3d like that seen in the early Tekken games (which had 3d looking backgrounds, and 2d characters) then you might want to check out Wretched's Easy 3D Module (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=26130.0)
However, if you're going for an all out 3d look, you'll need great coding skills to pull something like that off in AGS.Ã, You might want to also check out The Ags 3d Module and Plugin (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=22615.0)
I've heard a lot of bad things about game maker, such as its inability to create games that are diverse, but only make clones of basic games with the same engines...Ã, I wouldn't reccoment AGS for 3d unless you use a powerful module such as the ones I listed, and have a strong knowledge of coding in the AGS language.
-Good luck to you, Akumayo
Everything you mentioned (finishing moves audio, graphics) should be possible in AGS - if you're willing to put in the effort with the code. It's probably not a good idea for a very first project.
I'll add to Akumayo's handy links, with Ahmet's AGS Fight Game (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=20327.0), a fairly simple to use, basic beat-'em-up script.
Wow, I just noticed, that using Easy 3d and Ahmet's Fight Engine, you could make a super-basic 3d fighting game with like, two module imports.

well i got poser 6 a 3d character design program and animation software can i make the fighters in there then import them in ags
If you render the frames of the animation and import them, yes. (As mentioned in the BFAQ (http://americangirlscouts.org/agswiki/index.php/Graphics%2C_Characters%2C_Text_%26_Rooms#Using_3D_characters_and_backgrounds).)
It won't be 'real' 3D though - unless you want to use the AGS 3D plugin/module Akumayo linked, or the still-in-development Character 3D (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=23400.0) one. As I said, they're not really something you'd want to use right away, until you're more familar with AGS. Using pre-rendered graphics and 'psuedo-3D' is easier, but you're probably still better learning the basic commands, before you start trying to program combos, finishing moves, etc.
