Size Of The Game

Hi,

Im new to AGS and have started to create a game (obviousleyÃ,  ) So far i have 2 rooms and i wanted to show my friend what i have so far. I saved it etc etc and then tried the .exe file i would send to him via msn. It worked fine. I then attempted to send to him and it was over 4000kb.

Is there any reason why it could be so big? There is hardly anything to the game so far and if it carries on like this it will be too big to distribute once finished.

Any help would be greatly apreciated

Are you just sending him jsut the files in the comkpiled folder?

Oh wait.. If youre sending the exe then u already are... well if yo uare using mp3s or wavs or a lot of sprites that can affect the size...

Well to be honest im not so good with graphics and got help from the  reality on the norm site. As of now i dont have any inventory items or anything. I did however add about 10 charecters in the place where you add more. I only use one so far though.

The only music i have on it so far is on the introduction which was already there when i started the Norm game thing.

Hello and welcome to the forums

As Scuthbert says, make sure you only send files from the "Compiled" folder.

You can also zip it, it should reduce the size significantly.

aaargh i feel so dumb. It was nothing to do with AGS it was just me not thinking about zipping it. It was only the 1 file i sent (the .exe one). I didnt even bother with the setup one as it was only a test.

File size is around 600k now.
