Changing cursors

I've been playing a lot of games in which I am confused by the interfaces.  They require you to pick something up, but I can't figure out how to use the pick-up cursor.     I hope I don't sound too stupid.

Open the cursor settings, then set "StandardMode" to "True".
The cursor will now be among the ones you can cycle through via right-clicking.

Or did you mean how to process a click with that cursor?
