Hey, folks, another problem. I wanted to ask,
which program would you reccomend to draw character's and objects? Which do you use?
And if I use paint how to get my images nice?
When I convert them to 256 colours in the game
they appear very unlike the original. For example
if I move the character towards the screen I get to see
through his eyes  ???  :P and view everything through
them (i.e. I can see the door right through his eyes ;D)
When I move him up his shoes disappear??! When
i move him right it's fine, but when I move him left
I can see through his eyes again and his hair totally
disappears?  :P. What do I do??! Thanks

Although its not 100% obvious to me what you are talking about, I recommend you should try to create the character at the right size and right resolution as you want to have him in the game later. Enormous resizing is really evil and the character can look very crappy. About the colors, if you only have 256 colors of course your character needs to fit in, but why don't you change your game into high color and enjoy the benefits of "no palette" :) ?

I agree... you should change your game to hi color so that you don't have to worry about reducing color depth. Makes the images appear better in the long run...

From what I understood, it sounds like you are having a transparency problem. AGS takes one shade of the image, and uses it for the transparency color. Is the background in your characters image white? If so, that would explain why his eyes dissappear also. AGS usually takes the upper left pixel as the transparency color. You can change this if need be. Just make sure you do so before you load the image.

Okay, thanks for helping. I'll switch it to 16-bit.
That oughta solve my problems... Thanks once again.
